He’s the best of us
Bray to Greystones Dart
Planning on doing that one day and pairing it with a cruise from Vancouver to Alaska.
Himself and Ryan Gosling would get on great.
Take in Whistler.
I’d love to go there…
My cousin ran a pub in whistler for a year.
The Dart
Limerick junction to Colbert
The Dart is actually very scenic
On the Southside in particular and when it pulls into Howth. Rest of the Northside line has nothing to offer.
Shankhill to Sandycove and Dun Laoghaire to Sydney Parade is very hard to beat on a Spring morning as the sun is rising. Looks glorious.
The route on down to Wicklow is spectacular as well. Never gone beyond Wicklow town so I don’t know after that. It may as well be a tourist train, it goes so fucking slow
Rosslare Harbour to Connolly is the most scenic train journey in Ireland.
Takes in the south slob between Rosslare Strand to Wexford town, where it then meanders along Wexford Quay.
Then between Wexford town and Enniscorthy it goes along the beautiful Slaney valley.
Between Arklow and Wicklow it goes by Woodenbridge gc after that, you’d spot fields of pheasants as it passes through the Vale of Avoca.
Between Wicklow and Greystones you go along the beaches.
Greystones to Bray goes along cliff edges.
Bray to Connolly it transitions from the outskirts of the city to the middle, passing through leafy D4 and over many buildings.
It’s like I was sitting right there in the carriage beside you
I did a few days through BC on train. Got off the Alaskan ferry and went from Price Rupert to Jasper. Lovely journey.
Train is my favourite method of transportation. Great revival of this thread @maurice_brown
Great town.
On a related topic, Race Across The World is a fantastic travel competition on the BBC.
Season three is on at the minute and the teams are competing to to get across Canada. The good nature of the average Canadian and stunning train journeys really shines through.
