Season3 of Breaking Bad is outstanding. Seasons 1 and 2 were decent enough but the third one is impossible to switch off. You wouldn’t feel watching four or five episodes in a row.
I have downloaded Justified but didn’t watch it yet, the sherrif from Deadwood is the star of it.
Bizarre stuff CLD, cant decide if I liked it or not, but its one of the top sitcoms on TV at the moment thats for sure.
Stephen Graham is excellent in it to be fair. I don’t really blame Steve Buscemi for the flatness of his character at all, he’s more than capable of playing the role well. The character itself though just isn’t convincing. We’re supposed to believe this character runs the whole city and orders men killed, yet some of the things he does makes this seem like a totally unrealistic notion. I won’t give any spoilers but episode 5 and its conclusion is the best example of this.
I think that’s the problem throughout the show to be honest, just poor characterisation, a whole array of characters who just don’t convince you that they are who’re they’re supposed to be. The whole show seems to be about ‘recapturing’ the era through the costuming and the scenery and even the language, but there’s nothing especially interesting about the stories and the characters themselves. It’s a fairly run of the mill drama with a period novelty that has well worn off by the end of the first few episodes. It’s a major stretch to mention it in the same breath as Deadwood or Mad Men, and just downright insulting to compare it to the Sopranos or the Wire.
Season 2 of Breaking Bad was seriously dark and hard going at times but, yep, season 3 is fucking phenomenal. I’ve the last 2 episodes to watch just and I don’t want it to be over. It’s funny because I really didn’t see where they could go with it during Season 2. I presume there’s a Season 4 in the works?
You presume right. I have Season3 of Sons of Anarchy to watch yet too, Season1 was mediocre to decent, season2 was outstanding so hopefully it’ll continue along the same lines.
Is the BB series three currently airing or did it air last year? Hard to keep track sometimes.
I wouldn’t know to be honest, I download full seasons off IP Torrents. I don’t even know what channel it airs on over here.
I’d imagine it has finished airing if the full season is up on those sites.
I was watching week by week up until the start of May so I reckon it finished mid-June.
Its on FX over here, SOA is on Bravo and RTE.

Is Friday Night Lights worth watching? From the start, i realise its 4 years old. Heard good reports on it, but the source wouldn’t be great, the same fella’s would be glued to Hardy Bucks and the likes.

It’s a bit generic to start off with but they create many great characters over time.
Finally got around to watching treme. Not great it must be said.
Half a dozen indistinguishable musical interludes per episode. Storylines of value are few and far between. Poor enough stuff. Maybe my expectations were too high.
Watched 10 episodes of Outsourced last night. If any of ye work with offices in India you should watch it. I think could write a decent episode given my experiences with our Indian based jokeshop of a workforce. It’s decent viewing. Nothing spectacular, funny in places.
