The first season is basically an introduction to the characters and the themes that are focused on, it really kicks off in season two with the introduction of Frank.
There was a black dude who turned out to be gay and invited his friends to the bar. Then the lads got hit on. I didn’t find much to laugh at. I was hungover to fuck yesterday though, so I’ll give it the benefit of the doubt for now.
Have a bit of time on my hands rehabbing my gimpy knee.
Acquired Veep. Gave up half way into the 4th episode. No charm to it and it’s not funny.
Kind of a deal breaker for a comedy.
Dumped it after the second episode, the one with the frozen yoghurt. Just plain bad.
Very little out there of interest at the moment tbh.
Anyone try Girls after? Found it decent enough in the end. They are currently shooting season 2 so HBO must have been reasonably happy.
It seems to have gotten really good reviews.
I did like freaks and geeks a lot. And I have plenty of time on my hands. Worth a shot.
Currently watching The X Files and Angel. Worth a crack for the very few that missed them way back when.
Really enjoyed The Killing, anyone know if there’s going to be a third season or if that is it?
Acquired Girls [the TV show**].
It’s a quality little show. Well written, well acted. Real and gritty.
I approve. I’m 6 episodes in.

Anyone seen this …just discovered it last week…The first sky made series aint bad…second american done season is cracking entertainment…,bit of an eighties action film vibe with lots of outrageous shootouts nudity cheesy buddy humor etc with a pinch of mission impossible thrown in…
BT mentioned it in the tonights tv thread, but worth popping it in here. Watched Newsroom also, had been anticipating it for a while as you would anything to do with Sorkin but the reviews that came through last week worried me greatly. Having watched the first episode earlier on, I was more than happy with it and cant understand the reviews, well not yet anyway. Its everything you’d expect from a Sorkin show, with the snappy dialogue of TWW tied into the liberal view you’d have expected. Happy enough with it so far, its no West Wing yet, but it does have potential. I would fear a little for it with regards to its similarity in basis to Sunset Strip, but fuck it, I enjoyed Sunset Strip so I’m in.
I actually thought I’d posted that on this thread.
As I said on the other thread, decent start. Haven’t read any reviews of it.
As an aside, there was a Girls marathon on over the weekend and I was watching some of it again. The opening scene of episode 2 is brilliant. “Do you want a Gatorade?”
I’m your crack spirit guide!
Have to say Angel Season 2 is high quality TV.
Anybody watch Revenge last week? Double bill tomorrow. Looks decent enough. Possibly more of a bird’s show but sure I’m a gay so same thing really.
Shameless has really gone to shit (the UK version that is, the US one is shit anyway).
The birds in the US one make it watchable, just about. Fiona is a 24 carat stunner and Veronica is well worth a lash too. Stopped watching the UK one years ago, became a complete parody.I have 10 episodes of Dollhouse to watch, anyone seen it?
Bang on the money on Shameless there lads. Great series back in the day but both versions are pretty much unwatchable now.
Turns out this is shite.
Don’t bother with Dollhouse. Shambles of a show.
