Don’t think there’s any leverage on Johnson with that majority. But the SNP’s performance gives them the high ground in Scotland. Johnson’s problem will be that denying a referendum will possibly further enrage Scots Nat voters and persuade more to their cause.
If NI gets the deal that was proposed and Scotland is dragged out of the EU there will be murder. The haggis eating servile cunts are finally starting to wake up.
The growth of SNP has been a disaster for Labour, a vote for labour is seen as a vote for a second independence referendum, which in fact it might be. Simultaneously a vote for the Tories is probably a vote to cut off NI in terms of trade so either way it seems like the beginning of the end of the UK.
They also just despise Johnson’s English nationalism. Everything could change, the next 12 months will probably tell.
Let’s see how far the Scotch get with their share of the UK’s national debt and the oil revenues running out.
That’s Westminster’s debt, you lickspittle.
And so it begins for real, 100 years after Ireland
Any country that turns down independence in a referendum should not get another vote at it for at least 50 years.
All done and dusted in a few hours of counting. How boring.
Geese. The Geese voted for Christmas
If Sturgeon and the SNP pull that stunt like the Catalans did, they should be out on trial for secession. Maybe treason as well.
Is secession a crime?
That’ll be great for them. They can be the pretend government of Liverpool.
They’ll be delighted with themselves so they will.
A thought - Brexit has arguably made Scottish independence harder as Scotland rejoining the EU would now mean a hard border on the island of Britain. The Scots wouldn’t want that and there’s no way the English will ever allow even the possibility if it happening.
Simultaneously a combination of Boris, Brexit and Johnson’s deal will drive the Scots absolutely demented. The growth if the SNP and Tory donination south of the border will kean the Scots will have SFA influence on the British government for a generation. Throw in an incrrasingly unrrstrained english nationalism and a growing disregard for scotland generally things get tasty and irreconcilable. If there were Irish people involved you’d say the situation is turning into a powder-keg.
Is secession a crime?
If its not already, get it on the statute book quickly.
It’s good news for the constituents of Foyle and South Belfast that they will have representation in Westminster. Waste of time as ever electing Sinn Fein candidates.
Good news for who? The electorate dont want any part of Westminster
The electorate in Foyle clearly want representation in Westminster. Elisha McCallion was bucked out to the tune of 17,110 votes. Very impressive showing from Colum Eastwood.
I wish him well as he swears allegiance to the Queen of England.

The one way to drive the Scots towards independence en masse is to tell them they can’t have a referendum
This is pretty basic stuff, radicalised young Scots will be continually entering the political sphere from now on and unionists dying off
As Galbraith put it
The enemy of the conventional wisdom is not ideas but the march of events. Ideas are inherently conservative. They yield not to the attack of other ideas but to the massive onslaught of circumstance with which they cannot contend .
