I’ve heard enough stories from people who have known or worked for him and by all accounts he’s very hard to work with/for and is all round a bit of a cunt. That plus running for a second term when he insisted he’d only do the one. Sure he’s a lovely gnome of a fella and all that but compared to Robinson and McAleese who put pride and leadership into the role, Higgins has turned it back into an auld eloquent fart of a retirement home with all the trimmings.

I think a lot of the criticisms of Higgins are fair. I disagree on your last line though. I think he has put as much pride and leadership into the role as either of his predecessors. By and large I think he’s been an excellent representative for us. He has pushed the boundaries of the role too, not always but mostly in a good way, in my opinion.

I dunno half the time he just rocks up with the dogs and he could start quoting Hitler and people would be like ah sure God love him isn’t he great and he fit to saddle up the dogs and jump over a fence. He sure can speak with passion but a lot of it is guff talk and yerra yean nonsense. Good riddance in my opinion.
