Pelé is the all-time leading goalscorer for Brazil with 77 goals in 92 games. At club level he is Santos’ all-time top goalscorer with 643 goals in 659 games.

He got injured in the second match in 1962 and didn’t play any further part. Along with 1966, that showed he was soft.

And football didn’t begin until 1992 so you have to disregard everything before that.

It’s like Ring and Mackey and Rackard etc, their peers granted them that status, we’ll never know how they’d fare in todays game, but all sports were a lot tougher back then,
