US Presidential Election 2016: Sidney's Victory Lap

Nothing still then.

I didn’t ask for a description of your “points”, Data Boy.

Still running on the same anti-semitic ticket this morning, I see.

There is a irony of you critiquing Trump above regarding the lack of evidence for the 3.5m claim, when you make your own claims without any evidence on the widespread attitudes of millions of voters.

The US is a large economy as it is, it can sure survive without it.

It is already enormous.

A self-styled prominent member of the “alt-right” tweeted this:

2.6 million anti-semitic tweets by Trump supporters from July 2015 to August 2016 is widespread anti-semitism, pal.

That doesn’t even count the abuse from September 2016 on, as the campaign reached its crescendo, when could fairly presume that the frequency of such abuse would have gone up.

You’ll note that 2.6 million amounts to “millions”.

Anti-semitic abuse of 800 Jewish journalists by Trump supporters is widespread anti-semitism.

That’s real evidence, and that’s also “data”, Data Boy. I know you love data.

Still waiting for trump’s real evidence of voter fraud. Perhaps you can provide some “data”?

Or maybe make some up.

:grinning:

And who the fuck counted them?

I follow this chap on twitter. He’s a top level troll and self proclaimed king of the hipsters.

So according to gavin its not cool to threaten women, but ok to grab em by the pussy. This loser is surely a wum.

It’s cool to assault them. If you don’t you’re a “cuck”.

I presume you didn’t actually read it before posting it, because the 2.6 million figure is pure and utter tripe. It is a broad search of keywords that generally can be found in anti-semetic remarks and include words like Israel, and any mention of Israel is then taken as anti-semitism. It’s also based across all of twitter and the tweets might not necessarily have anything to do with Trump or even the American election. Palestinians tweeting antisemitic stuff for example are captured in that figure.

There’s also this in the report;

Racial slurs and anti-Israel statements were the top two manifestations of anti-Semitism

So to be anti-Israel is considered anti-semitism. You’re a bit of an anti-semite yourself by the that logic Sid.

The word Palestinian isn’t mentioned once in the paper.

Apart from the word cloud based on the keywords in the 2.6m tweets.

There were 63m Trump voters.

You are saying that all of those tweets were individuals, all Trump supporters, all were from the US and none were automated?

You equated all Trump supports to being anti Semites. Even if one was to take it that these all were one off tweets by 2.6m individuals the percentage would be 4% of this total support.

This is a ridiculous reach by you to try and suppose the opinions of all Trump supporters.

The only actual data we have here is that GOP supporters are supportive of Israel and Trump carried most GOP supporters. You tried to make out that this was some pivot, nothing has changed. You then deflected and started going on about dog whistles and listing other things he said and examples in other countries, but listed nothing Trump said that was anti Semitic or close to that. Again, the only hard facts we have is that he has family who are Jews and they are amongst his closest strategists and advisors both during the election and after.

You can criticise Trump for many things, but you have yet to demonstrate anything to back up your earlier assertion on Trump’s entire support base and nothing on Trump.

Headshot.

What constitutes actual anti Semitism is hotly debated amongst Jewish Americans.

Noah Chomsky for example, who Sidney I imagine is a big fan of, has criticised the anti defamation league in the past for including anti Israel statements as anti semitic. To him it is a marginal issue in America.

We have ludicrous examples on both the left and right of Jews hurling it at one another.

The right accuse some Jews themselves of being anti semites and traitors if they aren’t fullsome in their praise of Israel. The left accuse the same for talking about liberal Hollywood and Jews running it. This is at one another, see the recent Breitbart stuff where it was largely Jews calling one another those things.

Still though, as you point out above, amongst those tweets we have plenty of mentions of Palestine, Zionism et cetera.

Sidney has failed to demonstrate anti Semitism is a major part of the Trump vote. No data and no examples to back it up.

There is anti Semitism on both the left and right of US public opinion, but it is a marginal issue.

The only thing that the report shows is that there was targeted abuse of journalists by a very small number of twitter users which Sid has decided represent every single Trump supporter.

Sixty-eight percent of the 19,253 Tweets were sent by 1,600 Twitter users, confirming that these were persistent attacks on journalists by a relatively small cohort of Twitter users.

@Sidney is trying to lump all Trump voters into one neat narrative to explain why his beloved Hillary lost.
