We all know drink-driving is dangerous and your not in control of the car no matter what you think.
I think it could it be said that having a sneaky joint for your journey improves your driving no end.
In my experience, drink makes you forget the consequences whereas a single joint makes you think more about the consequences.
Switch on the radio, turn on the heat, spark up a fat one and forget about all the dodging in and out of lanes and flashing lights at lads.
did it once or twice when i first started driving but never went more than 3 or 4 miles and normally up a few back roads that you wouldnât meet another car on let alone a pedestrian but i soon knocked it on the head thankfullyâŚ
eamonn sweeney was on Q&A a few years ago and he said " a drunk in the pub is a nuisance, a drunk on the street is an eyesore but a drunk behind the wheel is a potential murderer" and i would fully agree
No. If I see a car approaching at speed in the inside lane and if the lane in front of him is clear then I will stay in the right lane so as to save him coming back into the right lane. I am not blocking him in any way. But if pulls into the right lane then I am out of his way into the left lane.

Farmer, despite thinking that your own fantasy rules of the road constitute âsmartâ driving. They donât and you are a shit driver. Learn the rules of the road and it may help you understand whatâs going on around you as you toddle along, it may also stop all the rage you have pent up against other drivers.
There is a roundabout just like that fairly close to heathrow just up from Hattons Cross tube station, and its fcuking mad. First time I drove through it i hadnt a scooby doo what was going onâŚ
was nearly in a head on collision on saturday. about 1 metre away or a wet day from it. Was on a straight stretch of road, tractor coming the opposite way with a few cars behind him. A jeep pulled out, risky enough as I was getting closer, but nothing too bad. Then as I got up to the tractor, some old fooking git in a crappy micra (it just had to be a micra) pulled out, and I slammed on the brakes and the horn, and the spastic just stayed out on my side of the road, didnt try speed up to go past the tractor, or didnt brake and get back on his side, no just kept driving on beside the tractor. I came to a complete stop about a metre away from his car, and then he pulled back in onto his side. Fooking arsehole. Saturday was a fooking terrible day in general tho.
Fucking buses that donât pull into their allocated bus âlay-bysâ to let the traffic behind them pass by but instead just stop in the middle of the road, hold up everyone behind them, collect about 10 passengers and then proceed to break 2 red lights in a row.
Fran thats why you have a horn, use it on the cunts and dont spare it.
i cant sit behind the fuckers when they do that id go spare, the horn may not solve anything but you will feel a whole lot better and others may end up joining in, turns it into something enjoyable

In the words of Homer Simpson " My taxes paid for that horn"
I donât mind buses. I spent enough time on the bloody yolks and have seem many buses pull into a lay bys and then try to get out but no one lets them out until the lights go red and as a result they can be held up for ages.
A bus carries about 100 people when full, all trying to get somewhere. Let them out ffs lads.
Just on the way to and from football this evening. There was a black 08 3 series BMW in front of me travelling at about 20mph through Milltown and of course when it eventually got to the lights they went red only allowing the BMW through and me held.
Same thing happened on the way back through Milltown with another black o8 3 series BMW. Could well have been the same car.

Hate that.
Would you have been (a) more pissed off, (b) equally pissed off, or Š less pissed off if the car had been a silver 07 Toyota Avensis?
Fran, this makes you the biggest cunt of all. If youâre not overtaking then get out of the fooking overtaking lane. Wanting to get somewhere fast doesnât make people self-important but trying to dictate someone elseâs speed on some sort of moral grounds makes you a sanctimonious coont. Unbelievable.
Clarkey, Iâm not driving in the overtaking lane for the fun of it. My problem is when I am in the process of overtaking @ maybe 120/130kmph and some cunt drives up behind me when and starts flashing their lights. Where the fuck am I supposed to go. Anyone driving in the outside lane thatâs not overtaking is fair game for all abuse.
Agreed. I havenât read back over the whole thread but wasnât it Farmer who sits in the overtaking lane while driving at what he deems an appropriate speed even when heâs not overtaking? Dangerous in the extreme.
Sorry Fran - misinterpreted what you said. Thatâs fine then. Happened to me from time to time as I used to drive a Punto and itâd take a while to get it up to speed.
