Their case numbers recently suggest it is heading for success, great news for us I think as we would still be in a level 4 scenario throughout the summer without them.

They have actually done that in some rural places with low numbers, such as sneem.
RTE for the first year in I don’t know how long made a surplus last year of €5m. The turn around in fortunes for them has been dramatic as they were on the brink for a while. The pandemic has been an unqualified success for them. I think they’d be quite happy to milk it for all its worth.

I’m not sure about far wealthier. Ireland is a very wealthy country.

It isn’t though. We are actually far wealthier than them on a GDP per population basis and basically identical on a GNP basis which allows for the fact that our GDP is a bit of a sham
