Vaccine Numbers Log Thread

The EU hold the cards here.

The vaccine rollout has been a total shambles so far under any objective measure. With supplies lagging behind promised levels, its even more imperative that what we have goes where it’s needed the most.

I heard anecdotally of someone in the HSE who is on a career break who got it

Another example of the health system being run for benefit of those who work in it. It’s sickening that a person who does finance for HSE and not near a hospital in 12 months is prioritised.

@Copper_pipe

Big shipment of Pfizer arrived in Belgium Monday (176k). Their biggest shipment of Pfizer since the 4th January.

The equivalent of the 26 getting 76k Pfizer vaccines.

Another informative thread here on the shambles:

Reports recently that employees from an external recruitment firm that the HSE uses to filter candidates were vaccinated too. Again, all of them wfh for the past year.

What does efficacy rates actually entail.

The latest trial data, which has yet to be reviewed by independent researchers, was based on 141 infections among 32,449 participants.

So is it 141 people got infected after getting the vaccine and being exposed to the virus?

Or is it 141 people got Covid after getting the vaccine who may or may not have come into contact with the virus?

It’s based against the trial group.
so you’ll have had two groups of 32,449
One with the vaccine, versus one without the vaccines and they’ll compare infection rates.
No one is deliberately exposed to it as far as I know.

The samples in general seem small but they do seem accurate as shown by the Israeli results.

EU sources say they’re mostly for other countries, not the U.K.

It’s clear though that the AZ CEO was lying when he talked about teething issues in European plants vs the U.K. because they signed up earlier as the main reason for the U.K. supply being so much better. Per the U.K. vaccine task force, 80m of their 100m were supposed to be U.K. produced. 30m were supposed to have been produced in the U.K. by the end of 2020.

The original 4m doses that went to the U.K. were from Europe, because the U.K. plants weren’t up and running.

We can only assume that a few million more left in January and February before the EU cottoned on.

The U.K. then went over to India to audit the plant there in February, that was supposed to be producing vaccines for India and the developing world and not the EU/U.K. Suddenly 10m of that 100m were going to be produced in India.

The U.K. have received 5m of those with the other 5m not being delivered holding up their vaccine efforts for April. Combined over this haggling over the Netherlands/Italian plants, it’s clear that the U.K. plants aren’t producing anywhere near what they were supposed to. AZ are blatantly lying over this as I imagine it could put them in some breach of the EU contract.

It’s mad really. You combine that with the late application and their regular lies and communication blunders and you would wonder how they will ever get governmental funding outside of the U.K. again.

They really need the US to just bin off their vaccine now and for those production facilities to be put to work for Brazil and Canada. Biden must be getting calls from all corners telling him to do it. Talking down the AZ results could be the political way to expedite that for Biden as no American is going to take it now ahead of the other 3. Crazy the damage all of this has done to what is a good vaccine but AZ have made an absolute balls of it.

This is the kind of shit you are dealing with and all the blame is going on the government or the EU because the vaccine rollout isn’t fast enough.

There’s a lot of bad luck in it but we will still catch up fast once the other ones come on stream.

That leaves an awful lot to chance really.

South Africa has also decided the AZ isn’t worth a shit and that there’s no point using it so has thrown the 500,000 doses it bought in the bin*.

*Sold them to other African countries.

Double figures

That’s because of the media reporting of the small scale study on the variant amongst 30 year olds and J&J were willing to step in and give them even more doses.

It’s political and strategic all the way round. The EU were asleep on this until January. Alarm bells should have been sounded when the U.K. needed 4m European supplied doses when they were supposed to have 30m ready to go in December.

Is it true that any vaccine that has been sent to Ireland is used within 4 days ?

The HSE admin staff dont like to be kept waiting
