I’ve developed a wild theory as to why Dr Tony advised against using the AZ vaccine for over 65s. Once they are vaccinated then no need for lockdowns and the megalomaniac will be off the six one in a few months. Also once opened the cervical check tribunal will be back on (it conveniently got pushed back due to level 5). Dangerous man

Why he is he allowed over rule an expert committee?
The lads on Twitter castigate others for ignoring the “experts” and Holohan who is not a vaccine expert is allowed overrule vaccine experts and the WHO who said the AZ vaccine can be used in over 70s.
Considering the noise came from the germans who had initial concerns about the AZ vaccine, they investigated it, looked at data and drove on with jabbing the over 70s. Tony hears the first part that they were concerned made his decision and wont change his mind based on current data.
Sums up the whole pandemic approach, he made his mind up in march and it doesn’t change

The benefits of the Covid-19 vaccine developed by AstraZeneca and Oxford University outweigh any risks and the shot should recommended for use, including in people aged 65 and older, a World Health Organisation panel said on Wednesday.
In interim recommendations on the shot, the Strategic Advisory Group of Experts on Immunisation (SAGE) panel said the vaccine should be given in two doses, with an interval of some 8 to 12 weeks between the first and second doses.
SAGE also said that even where questions have been raised about the vaccine’s efficacy against a South African variant of the coronavirus, “there is no reason not to recommend its use”.
South Africa this week paused its rollout of the AstraZeneca vaccine after data from a small trial showed it did not protect against mild to moderate illness from the 501Y.V2 variant of the coronavirus now dominant in the country. –Reuters
