Waterford Hurling (now incorporating intermediate football) 2013 and subsequent years

Demographics, innit?

Have Roanmore any county players?

Billy Nolan only current one. Chuck O’Brien used be involved a few years back.

For al Ballygunner’s numbers and new houses out the Dunmore Road, they very much consider themselves a country club and are essentially still made up of a few families.

Is Billy Nolan not a goalie originally?

:joy: very much by choice

Yes.

Maybe.

They are very, very proud of it though.

My youngest fellow is in school in Ballygunner. He’s hurling with Erins Own though as my late father in law and all in that branch of the family steeped in Erins Own. Two of his class (including one of his best mates) are also in Erins Own as they come from that gene pool too. Tough in some ways that all the rest of his class are with Ballygunner but after a week or two he got over that and actually seems to get a bit of a kick out of it now.

2 Tony Brownes?

One of them was from Roanmore sure.

Misprint, that’s Tommy a tough nut

Some things never change, a Kilkenny man, an Offaly man, a Ferrybank man and a Roanmore man in the team

They were multicultural before the rest of us.

They even exported. Gary Gater went on to line out for Wexford.

Yes Tony Browne (1) was actually his brother Tommy who was a hardy centre back who would cut you in two and make no excuses for it.

Didn’t he half kill some Passage player at the end of the 94 co final

He did indeed and more power to him.

Roanmore were well able to dish it out back then. Was it a county final in the Fraher field back in the late 80s early 90s where they timbered the fuck out of Ballyduff upper.
