Waterford Hurling (now incorporating intermediate football) 2013 and subsequent years

De La Salle werenā€™t at much, a 3 point losing margin flattered them. Jack Fagan did a decent enough job on Aussie. Mount Sion will need a bigger contribution from Aussie next week if they are to beat Ballygunner, albeit he did weigh in with some important scores. That was a monster of a free he landed near the end to restore the 3 point lead.

Luke Oā€™Brien and Stephen Oā€™Neill a solid axis for Mount Sion at full back and centre back, Stephen Roche a good link man in midfield. Jamie Gleeson went well too.

At least Mount Sion are in the final. A bit of history and tradition can go a long way. Good luck to them.

Any substance in the talk that Tony Browne is going in with Cahill in Tipp?

Ballygunner and Ballysaggart going to Extra Time.

Last gasp Gunners goal to draw. Sounds like a great game.

Intermediate?

Aussie has been playing with a broken hand since the Lismore game.

Yes the Gunners win by 6 AET.

Heartbreaking for Saggart but not BGā€™s fault.

No team promoted now as far as Iā€™m aware. Saggart have the consolation of Munster Club action

Ballygunner thirds playing Colligan in Junior A final on Saturday afternoon. Ballygunner beat Ballydurn by 1 point in Eastern Junior A final last Sunday.

Be some state of affairs if they end up winning Senior, Intermediate and Junior A.

Donā€™t they have JJ Hutchinson and a few more elder statesman with heaps of County Senior medals won in the last decade playing in that?

All Ireland Final hero Harry Ruddle was playing tonight for the Inters along with a few more lads who featured along the way to Croker last year, Barry Sullivan, Jake Foley, Darragh Oā€™Keefe etc. Then a host of young lads who have County Under 17/20 experience in recent years.

Just reading the match report from the Ballydurn match in the Waterford News & Star earlier. They have a few decorated veterans. Wayne Hutchinson anyway. Willie Kiely as well at full back. Think Willie Kiely is originally Colligan. Stephen Power at full forward. He was the star of the De La Salle All Ireland Colleges winning team in 2007 and 2008 but Senior career fizzled out quick enough.

Most of the rest of them Iā€™d say are youngsters. Colligan will have Colin Dunford.

All year to play it off but play it under lights on a Thursday night. Makes no sense.

It was originally scheduled as a double header with the Junior A for Fraher Field on Saturday afternoon. Ballysaggart requested the switch to Thursday night and apparently threatened not to fulfill the fixture if it went ahead on Saturday.

Yeah Stephen Power had smashing wrists but lacked the athleticism. His younger brother (i think) Conor had a more illustrious Club Career in the end. Think he retired totally after the AI Final.

Waterford are introducing a new Premier intermediate next year afaik.

10 teams Senior and 10 in the new grade. Itā€™s the 2 relegated teams and all the semi finalists in the west and east intermediate championships.

@ChairmanDan may confirm

Young fellow is hurling out west in a blitz on Saturday. Might wander down to have a look at the Junior A final once heā€™s done. Itā€™s on at 4 in Fraher Field.

Iā€™ll be up that way on Saturday and I am thinking of heading into the junior C county final.

So no relegation from Senior then?

Someone mentioned something about some sort of Premier Intermediate Grade being proposed and Senior being cut to 10 teams from 12 so maybe there is 2 teams going down?

I was told it was not broken but a badly bruised thumb?
