Waterford Hurling (now incorporating intermediate football) 2013 and subsequent years

A Tipp style coup against Colm Bonnar might be required. That must be one win in about 14 games in the round robin system now for the Deise.

That would be coup number 3.

And Donners as well.

Waterford just looked a really badly coached and poorly drilled team today, like they did for large stretches against Limerick last Sunday too.

I got in early enough today to see most of the second half of the curtain raiser, Waterford v Cork in the Camogie. A rare Camogie win Waterford over Cork. Sean Power the man at the helm there, appointed around the same time as Davy. The Waterford Camogie team looked a properly coached team and displayed a better first touch today than their male counterparts.

Surely it would have been worth having a punt on a fellow like Sean Power whoā€™s delivered a minor and U21 All Ireland for Waterford, rather than the Davy/Donncha Oā€™Callaghan, Irelandā€™s Fittest Family ticket.

Sean Power would be another Patsy Fanning type appointment.

I could see Brendan Cummins taking the job next year and heā€™d be good too.

Have to disagree there. Power won minor and U21s with some of the current senior panel. Heā€™d be a good appointment.

Davy flat out with the lame excuses after the game.

Itā€™s your team Davy. Nice of him to absolve himself of all blame

Youā€™d wonder too about Bomberā€™s influence on the set up. He seems way too prominent and was doing the goalkeepers warm up in Thurles last week.

I could imagine some of the Waterford players listening to him, wondering who the fuck is he.

Eoin Liston?

Is bomber the lad with the gilet and earpiece (Bulfin v2.0) that looks like heā€™s on work experience shadowing Davy?

Yes.

Heā€™s risen up through the ranks of Davy-ball from water boy to assistant manager.

Waterford puck outs were a shambles yesterday. Billy Nolan is not an inter-county standard goalkeeper. Heā€™s an okay shot stopper, but in just about every other aspect heā€™s deficient. If you had a serious coaching team rather than this banter Celebrity Bainisteoir set up, Stephen Oā€™Keeffe could well be still involved.

Time to move on from Soky.

Club policy in Ballygunner to focus all energy on BG once you hit 30.

Thatā€™s fair enough. Ballygunner are just a hindrance to any kind of a successful county team. Happy to be flat track bullies big fish in a small pond. Contribute close to nothing to the County set up. Ballyhale when they were racking up all their club All Irelands were still backboning Kilkenny All Ireland winning teams.

They can win all the counties and All Irelands they want.

People in the know - Mount Sion > Ballygunner

Heā€™s like Nate the Great

For whatever reason Mount Sion have only produced one consistent starter for Waterford in 15 years. Themselves and De La Salle need to be upping it for Waterfordā€™s benefit.

Ballygunner get a lot of unwarranted criticism for being an exceptionally well run, successful club.
