God help me if weâre in touch with 5 minutes to go on Sunday.
how many in a row have BG in minor?
2 in a row. Lost in 2022 to DLS in the Final.
They had done 5 in a row before that from 2017-2021. Some of those were u18 and some u17.
The amount of talent thatâs going to go to waste is just unreal. They only have three Goalies whoâve played Minor/U20 for Waterford waiting in the wings to take over from SOK
Is the senior final on this Sunday?
It is indeed.
Just clocked off there till Wednesday!
Best wishes chief
Congrats to Brickeys on winning the Intermediate
Three greater Dungarvan area teams in senior next year and five from Waterford City.
Was it ever in doubt?
That was just desperate stuff today. Abbeyside were slow, ponderous, few of their players looked overweight and they were lacking in quality all over the field.
Ballygunner have appeared in 27 of 30 county finals in the last 30 year period 1995-2024. Their utter dominance across all grades is not rising standards, nor has it been for a long time. It is just feeding demoralisation. They could easily make 27 of the next 30 finals as well too.
Cappoquin/Tourin got a raw deal in the intermediate where Conor Tobin beat them despite being a senior player due to yer weird eligibility rules.
Fair rise for Brickeys who were junior not so long ago, Tom O Connell and Peter Cummins are too serious operators.
Ballygunnar looked really good but it was a Disappointing enough effort overall by Abbeyside really. Theyâve a decent age profile and should improve if they Monty is back fully but it must feel like they are as far away as ever. Da La Salle the second best team in the county judging by the results.
Abbeyside never turned up at all. Occasion totally got to them.
There was a bit too much talk about an upset during the week really. The day Ballygunner get beat in Waterford will be when its least expected or when theyâve an injury crisis.
That team is a ticking time bomb though and theyâve bet the family farm on getting over the line in the All Ireland this year. Beat the Limerick champions away and everything should fall into place but that bit wonât be simple.
Youâll be torn if Doon are facing them after finally reaching the promised land.
Experience from today will stand to them. The gunners look very good on paper currently but the wheel turns.
St Josephs Doora Barefield looked to have an unbelievable team in 99-00. We nearly beat them in 2002 with effectively an Intermediate team.
Doon will still be in the pub if Derek brings them to the promised land.
That would be my thought also.
It is fixed for sun 3rd November, a week after the Limerick finals weekend.
Derek could have to tog himself.
