I donāt know the chap at all but youād hear things about application and work ethic that would concern you whether heāll really make it. There probably would have been similar things said about Paul Flynn in his day, but those were different times and you could get away with it then and get by as an out and out stylist. Itās all so systems based now.

20k at a game billed to be a forgone conclusion (obviously it wasnāt) on a wet day and with one team bringing few enough fans (but they made great noise in fairness to them). I think it was a good crowd.

He gives Na Piarsaigh an awful time each day anyway. Its the old John giles one about him being able to do things only very specal players can do, but he has to sustain it. Waterford are a bit between teams but thereās seroius lads coming andd thereās no one around to be petrified of either. Weāve seen peak iterations of this Limerick/Cork/Clare group. Iād say a lot depends on young Spain and that gang.
Likes of Dessie wonāt do it alone but he is a serious talent with the right lads to play off. My late Uncleās grandson from Colligan made the Waterford minors this year so Iām rooting for ye now anyways.

How many home games do limerick play in a calender year
To be fair, he always turns up and does it in the winter time. Sometimes in defeat.
1-04 and MOTM the night he was butchered up and down Portlaoise and was excellent v Sarsfields in 2024 when all around him were losing their battles.
The rota of fixtures should mean its Tipp v Waterford in Thurles to open next years championship which is something to get the pulses racing for

I was also at the three previous Limerick v Waterford round robin games in Limerick in 2018, 2022 and 2024. I wouldnāt have thought there was much difference in the level of Waterford support today from those three games. There was well over 30,000 at the previous three games. Iād say the Limerick crowd was down at least 10,000 today for the fixture than in previous years.
Thereās a massive bit of Lar Corbett/Jake morris bout him, they need to figure out a regime that works for him that he can peak in championship. Ability is definitely there. Those Ballygunner lads are playing all year round. Dessie was even saying heād rather go back to straight knock out.
I donāt think they are a direct comparison. Jeopardy, expectation and where the game arrives in the series play into it.

Kilkenny would be beaten by an average score of 14 points a game against munster opposition this year I think.
Tis like two Inter County seasons in one really.
You see it with the Brigidās lads in Roscommon not getting much of a look in this year or even the Dingle lads in Kerry who seem to be only floating in and out of the team.
Galway not very reliant on Loughrea at all.
Waterford need all their lads fit and firing and havent been able to do so. Dessie was flying for Waterford back in 2020/2021 when there were less games played across Club and County because of Covid in those years but since then its been a hamster wheel,
