Waterford Hurling (now incorporating intermediate football) 2013 and subsequent years

fuck sake…clear to see from the programme which club is from the blue collar neighborhood…

Carnage on the Waterford panel. Prendergast, Shane Walsh and Molumphy retire. Lawlor, Nagle, Foley and Ray Barry cut from the panel.

Do they even have a panel now? What’s going on down there?

It’s October ffs sake, what’s the craic?

Ray Barry is good enough to be involved surely?

Molumphy got fucked around a lot last year.

Hang on, they are actually putting Gleeson back to 6? o_O

I heard prender and Walsh gone but none of the rest?!!

Why have the above mentioned players been cut from the panel, @Fagan ODowd?

A clear out to bring in the minors of 2013 @Colin Montgomerie. The fact that all the above named players are from the West of the county is not a good sign either.

What is happening in West Waterford Fagan?
Didn’t Cappoquin win the Intermediate this year- does that bring them into Senior for next year?

Stevie Molumphy has retired…the nicest fella you could ever meet. Pity waterford never got to see the best of stevie between work commitments and injury but he gave great service. Enjoy your retirement Stevie!

He is only 30, you’d imagine he would have a few years left in him. Being in the army he’d never have any problems with fitness.

With work is he abroad a lot or based in Kilkenny/Cork/Dublin when he is back at home? Excellent player all the same, no dirt, just went out and hurled away. Great engine and a skillful player. Good luck to him. With the commitment nowadays can see more and more lads retiring relatively early - and if they do fair dues. It’s their life.

That’s a huge amount of experience Waterford have lost in recent weeks (and even years) but they’ve a lot of fine young players coming through. They’ve consistently produced decent minor teams over the past 5 or 6 years. Been poor enough at u21 admittedly for whatever reason. No real pressure on Waterford next year and I think they could shock a few people - including us in the first round of the league.

Hard to know where Waterford are going to be at, but reckon it being the first round - and having the match at home - should swing that one Limerick’s way. Away to Wexford is the trickier assignment.
All three have had some level of underage success in recent years, so on paper at least 1B shouldn’t be a cut-and-dried two horse race next year. In reality though, I’ve a feeling it’ll be a tough year for Waterford.

What are Modeligo like lads?

They are sound.

Good team Tom Devine off last years winning minors and pat Fitzgerald who was a panelist on the senior team for a number of years

Ken McGrath is the new Mount Sion manager.

A top man is Ken - hope to see him manage Waterford one day

I’d agree wholeheartedly with that. Nice tribute from JJ to him as well. Reckoned he was the best player he ever played against.
