No way. He stepped in obviously, but Cody was aggressor. And was no more intimidating than Connolly was, moreso in fact.
If Cody fets away with it then i welcome Connolly back. Completely.

Based on what?
Anyone remember the atmosphere after winning the 2015 final? I hoped after that we wouldn’t win one for 2 or 3 years. That might turn into 5 years very quickly.
Hang on I think I have a violin in the boot of the car.
The commentator kissing Cody’s hole as well.
This. Cody must be banned from all GAA activity for a minimum of 12 weeks.
That might mean some disappointed juvenile teams in Wicklow, Meath or Down who now won’t get their medals presented by him, but so be it. There’s a load of other Kilkenny hurlers sitting around with nothing to do who can present medals just as well as Cody can, and Cody can console himself in the knowledge that he can still present juvenile camogie medals during his ban.
What happened to your man Kennedy corner back? Not a Cody type hurler?
Has never had the time to properly recover from injuries, lead to drop in form. On top of that he’s killing himself to get back to his previous level I heard, hours at the ball alley on his own and that. Putting away the hurl altogether for a few months would do him good.
How come no mention of DJ for kilkenny manager?
I don’t think they’ll be away that long. Kevin listed off a good number of serious players with a good few years left in them, they only need a couple extra to step up from underage and they’ll be there or thereabouts again. There’s players in the county who wouldn’t play for Cody too I heard.
Lads, winning Leinster underages is one thing, it’s winning AI’s underage to be fair, there isn’t much competition in Leinster underage
cody wont go until he wins another one.
Correct. Munster teams have been way ahead of the rest at u21 in recent years
It’s hard to gauge what KK have coming through and Leinster underage isn’t a fair barometer, Wexford had dominated the U21 in Leinster these last 3/4 years, Dublin have had strong minor and U21 teams in Leinster
Look at cork in hurling though, and conversly in football. Lost a load of tight Munsters at underage and now have a very competitive team.
Look at Kerry. Cork beat them at u21 by 20 points or something a few years ago. Kerry now have 8 of that team playing regularly while Cork have 3.
KK only need 4/5 very good players over next 2 years. Its possible a few are already involved but have not reached potential. Again, look at Cork - Lehane, Cahalane, Ellis etc
“Because I don’t like him” is probably not a sufficient reason. He was Lisdowneys manager when they were promoted to intermediate and a friend from Lisdowney told me how impressed they were with his man management skills which genuinely surprised me.
I think the Mullallys are worth considering
they have consistently won schools and have that minor crop that we should have beaten. the ability to bring one or two young lads into the team wont work now for cody as the base is no longer there. it could take a couple of years but there is one left in him I’d say
Well you are honest. Its a legitimate reason for questioning it. But i doubt i’d like Cody too much either, in fact i would suggest he is generally not the nicest fella ever. But who cares. He does a great job generally.
The game is largely man management. In fact in the hogher levels managing your management team is Manager 1.01. Cos if you don’t do that you are truly fucked. And that can be the big jump from club to county. Trusting lads and be willing to hand over responsibility.
I think Kierans winning schools titles is overrated as no other serious hurling county has so many of their best hurlers concentrated in one school
I know Brian Cody and I like him but obviously I know him in a different context.
Two of my friends work in the school he was principle of and they couldn’t speak highly enough of him as a boss and a mentor. One of them joined his staff as a sub after a few years of subbing in several different schools and said the atmosphere amongst the staff was the best she had experienced.
