Waterford v Kilkenny 2017

I can’t wait to hear about Shefflin’s inspirational half-time motivational speech during the first round qualifier* in 2020.

“We are…winners!”

Westmeath win by 10 points.

*Such a fixture will likely not exist in 2020.

Oooh aaah

Shefflin dished up some plate of sour grapes in the Sunday Times yesterday. Of course he made the point that it wasn’t t sour grapes.

Are you in implying his opinion has no basis?

He’s not very likeable.

Are you implying he actually wrote it?

It’s amazing a lad that played as much hurling as Shefflin doesn’t understand what he was looking at. Take a mental picture of each Waterford goal. What did they all have in common. Apart from Padraig Walsh flapping helplessly. Space. They all involved the Waterford forward in acres of space on the 21 yd line. The ability to create that amount of space numerous times ( at least 6 times - we butchered one chance and there was a professional foul for another) is “negativity” and being “too tactical”. As opposed to Kilkenny who scrummaged their way to two goals

I truly love John Mullane, he’s as honest as the day is long. Straight out honesty with no ould shit about him.

I’m so happy for him and Waterford people and there’s nothing that would please me more than to see them go on now and win the A I. Hon the Deise!! Mullane and Dan Shanahan, phew, if only we had men like the in Limerick.

Did you see Maurice grabbing his crest after his goal. It was just like the good old days all over again.

I’ve read Shefflin as well. Shefflin was bland but he made a point I’ve been trying to make for the last twelve months.
In a nutshell I believe McGrath trusts the system he had adapted but for some reason he doesn’t trust the players under his wing.
Waterford have got to realise that a six or a seven point lead going into the last ten minutes of a game is not a licence to shut up shop. That’s the only thing stopping them. They have not learned from the drawn semi final last year . They were nearly caught again Saturday evening. They should have gone for gold that last ten minutes and they would have won it handy. They have the ability no doubt but those niggling doubts are still there. They would nearly be better off going into the last ten minutes four points down

What the fuck would you know about it?

Fuck off.

That’s a very mature thing to come back with when your opinion is challenged.

You had a reply in barley 5 seconds after the post went up. It might be a shite post but don’t say you read it when you clearly didnt

I read your post. It’s the same ould recycled garbage about Waterford that you always post.

Whatever Fagan

I reckon the reason Shefflin and his ilk don’t like hurling that is “too tactical” is that Cody can’t figure out how to play against it.

Larkin doesnt rate Waterford.

You’re basing that on a single Waterford win against Kilkenny in the Cody era? Could it just be that Waterford have the better hurlers now?
