Waterford v Wexford - The battle for armchair supporter moral high ground

Waterford need Paudie Mahony contributing more from play, this year apart from frees heā€™s been very poor
If de burcaā€™s suspension is upheld I could see Aussie dropping back to Centre back, probably his best position
Shane Bennett will struggle to hold his starting place, not all his own fault given the role heā€™s been asked to play
I think of the four teams left, Waterford have the strongest bench but Waterford are in most peopleā€™s eyes the 4th best team left in itā€¦time will tell
The hurling today was just awful as a spectacle, like a game of tennis, vomit

Ya very fair assessment. Iā€™d probably go a B+ as well.

Its a big challenge for him thpugh. As is flagged regularly, he has always had a significant impact Season 1.

Nobody can take the AI away from him so he is a winning manager, but he also failed in my opinion at Warerford with a good squad. To be a top manager i think he needs to show next year he can bring them on.

And the best move ever is being up in the stand. He needs to maintain that. He is a different man up there and can see the game better.

Be careful there, next Davy will be calling you out if you criticize him

I donā€™t get ya.

I was critical when they won the AI as he made too much about and the players would eventually reject that. Which they arguably did

I was getting at Davy calling out Duignan and Shefflin today for criticizing him

Wexford people near me thought the referee was quare bad today.

Have always thought that makes sense. In terms of managing a team, you have to be able to take emotions out of yourself and not be hitting every ball or getting involved in referee decisions. You need to be able to be objective and see how the game is playing. Being close to the action doesnā€™t lend itself to that way of being. Staying up in the stand helps, view the game better and also not get as emotionally attached. Can make positional changes and subs etc quicker.

Thatā€™s some funny hun

Stephen Rochford is to be admired for choosing this approach also.

Thereā€™s a Wexford girl beside me who didnā€™t understand the advantage rule. She was funny. You canā€™t be giving them another chance after they missed the chance.

A sour ould Wexford cunt in front of me left us with the parting shot that ā€œGalway will ate yeā€

@nembo_kid has the same understanding as her too.

You get a lot of that type of behavior from Bandwagon supporters, never at a match in their lives before the Leinster final, the Leinster final in which Galway ate them

To be fair, your get them.in every county.

I thought Waterford beat them every bit aswell.

Yes, thatā€™s why they are called bandwagon supporters

You expect a girl from Wexford to understand the advantage rule when lots of refs donā€™t ?

Jesus Fagan .

Congrats @Fagan_ODowd. I presume youā€™d prefer Cork in the next round?.. Wouldnā€™t be a bad time to face either really with the 5 week break.

Rory O Connor is a smashing young hurler too btw
