Wexford GAA 2009

there a sports outlet shop with 2 shops in Wexford town one in New Ross and im not sure but possibly one in Gorey and Enniscorty too…

The one in Gorey closed down due to financial difficulties! There’s still one in Enniscorthy. I’m sure the employees laid off from the Gorey branch will be happy to see the wages that they would have earned go towards a logo on the new jerseys now!

just heard that myself mac bit ironic alright a three year deal was signed south east radio were sayin

I see the Co Board hvent stumped up for the new jerseys yet anyways by the looks of it.

I was hoping “Sports Savers” was some local charitable organisation whose aim was to save the decline of our senior hurling team, but no, apparently tis a sports shop.

And you hardly think they’d have it on the jersey yet MBB if the deal was only done (if it is even done yet) over the last couple of days.

just heard interview with Ger Doyle it was after yesterdays match that sponsorship deal was confirmed… also that new jersies are another few weeks away reverting back to one of the older styles… hopefully something like we had before the change to gaelic gear circa 2001 jersey

pretty poor performance yesterday in fairness, but its the first day and it was a very experimental team. as bandage said, defenders were tried and given a go, but proved that some of them are definitely not up to it whatsoever. christ it was painful watching it at times and you could see the roasting being given out. but i suppose if ryan doesnt try it in these games then he wont find a longterm replacement for wallace.

the lads looked very unfit too. PJ must have been hopping off the christmas dinners because he could barely muster up a sprint. positives to take tho was Fogarty impressive at midfield and winning posession, and cullen back making some nice plays. Kinsella as well looked sharp enough.

Theres one in Wexford Town aswell Mac, it will probably be closed down in a month though like the rest of the shops in the place.

There 2 in Wexford , one on Nth. Main St.and another in Selskar

So, our new sponsors will be foisting tacky gear on us then?

If it’s true they made staff redundant and closed shops citing the economic climate, yet mustered up roughly €100k a few months later for sponsorship then they’re cunts.

Ah I was just pulling the pish pikie.

I can confirm that Wexford football corner back David Walsh is back from his southern hemisphere travels. I spotted him at 11.20 this morning near Wexford Garda Station and he continued up along by Dempsey’s Terrace and into the local FS premises.

Larry O’Gorman sped by soon after and we acknowledged each other with a friendly wave. Mutual respect between two Faythe Harriers legends.

Apparently Sports Savers are re-opening their shop in Gorey but its not going to be in the Main Street premises they had. It’ll be on one of the side streets.

Something like Bank of Scotland so and the 6 Nations.

But i suppose people would be going mad too if they couldn’t get sponsorship for sports.

Fook you Pikeman.

We’ve a home draw against Kildare in the U21 football championship - need to find out where, but it’s presumably Wexford Park.

Alternatively, supporters could travel to Kerry to watch our hurlers in action.

I havent heard too many great reports about this years u.21’s. not too many starting club senior players and a lot who didnt attend trials or werent notified. this is the gorup that lost to Kilkenny at minor. Kildare are supposed to be fairly strong too, and reigning Leinster champs too having beaten us last year.

think it is Wexford Park Bandage, they were having a small training session on the park after the Armagh game sunday.

The Wexford manager (O’Brien still I think?) was on the radio with Spratt and said he was delighted with the players and the effort they put in. Training on Christmas eve I think he said and New years eve.
He did say it will be a difficult task to beat Kildare as I think they still have 10 or 11 players from last year’s All-Ireland final team.

aidan isnt training them this year. Think Paul Carthy is over them. but they’d always say the players are making a great effort, because they are. But they could have more, and what they have isnt really great stuff.
