According to Aertel Wexford are 4-08 to 10 points up at half time against Offaly
Wexford 5-14 Offaly 0-17

No doubt ye will. Weāll still beat ye by a good fourteen points if we meet in championship though.
do ye not go down to christy ring now as well as D2 ?
Thatās what I meant. Are ye not there already?
david redmond got 2 of the goals, gizzy , rory jacob and stephen banville got 1 eachā¦ didnt head into game myself as slightly under the weatherā¦ but stephen nolan was impressive from centre back i hearā¦ play carlow next week and most likely will meet offaly again in the league final in a few weeks time
Took this from an Offaly site to give their perspective
Hereās my first match report for this board, so forgive me if itās a little haphazard.
I went down to do some reconnaissance for the 30th of May. The Faithful supporters were thin on the ground, though not unexpected for such a long trip.
We had little to shout about apart from in the first 10 minutes when we briefly led. Once the second goal went in, they stepped it up another gear. From there on, the drive home was always going to be longer.
They had a spine of big men up the centre of the pitch and we struggled to deal with their physicality. Time and again, we were shouldered off the ball with consummate ease, much to the delight of their strawberry-pickinā fans. Their defence hunted in packs, suffocating our lads and we failed to return the compliment. They always seemed to have that extra split second on the ball and consequently used it better.
The primary fault for the goals lies with our worryingly porous full-back line, the sooner Kenny comes back the better. Three, if not four of the goals were from rebounds as far as I can recall; Breeder did as much as he could in trying circumstances.
As much as it galls me to say it :x Wexford were the better team. They wanted it so much more, given that itād be curtains for their promotion hopes if they lost. If it werenāt for a couple of late points by our boys, theyād be top of the table now.
As an aside, I have to mention Shane Dooleyās luminous green boots. Is he enrolled in the Mark Vaughan School of Fashion or what? They looked like tennis balls on his feet. Perhaps he should spend less time trying to co-ordinate his match-day wardrobe and more time honing his freetaking skills.

THINGS may be starting to look up for Wexford after they demolished a feeble Offaly challenge at Wexford Park.
Wexford are now level with Offaly on 10 points, but with an inferior points difference, while Antrim are in third spot, one point further adrift.
The final placings will go right down to the final game with Offaly playing Antrim, while Wexford play Carlow.
After some indifferent displays, as far as the home fans were concerned, the outcome of this championship rehearsal was well worth waiting for. They played with far greater urgency and with a sense of direction in their play, particularly in the first half, when four goals, two from David Redmond and one each from Diarmuid Lyng and Stephen Banville gave them the confidence boost they needed.
Offaly, playing into the wind, started brightly with the two opening points through Daniel Currama and Cathal Parlon, but thereafter their game fell apart after the homeside struck for the opening goal after just seven minutes. Their defence, particularly their full-back line was completely over-run, never worked as a unit, giving 'keeper Brian Mullins little cover, while at the same time allowing their opposite numbers score two early tap-in goals.
The manner in which Offaly stood back and conceded those four first-half goals must be a concern for manager Joe Dooley, for they simply left themselves with too much to do.
While Offaly had the two opening points, Wexford had not long to wait for their opening score, a fourth minute Andrew Shore point. Three minutes later came the opening goal. Diarmuid Lyng found himself in acres of space, but his goal attempt was superbly saved by 'keeper Mullins. However, with the defence all at sea, corner-forward David Redmond was left with a simple tap-in.
It was Redmond who had his second goal after 13 minutes, when he finished from close in after Mullins had superbly pushed away what appeared a Lyng goalbound effort. From there to the interval it was Wexford who assumed control adding further goals through Lyng, who was set up by a superb Rory Jacob lob over the defence, and Stephen Banville, to lead by 10 points at the interval, 4-8 to 0-10.
Signs were ominous for Offaly when Rory Hanniffy and Rory Jacob exchanged early second half points.
With Offaly showing little innovation in attack, Wexford ended whatever hopes they entertained of a second half recovery when David Redmond raced through for his third goal after 43 minutes, leaving his side with a 5-9 to 0-11 lead.
Wexford were dominant in midfield where Colm Farrell had an impressive outing, while Lyng and Redmond were tormenting the Offaly defence all through. From there the sides went on to exchange a flurry of points, but Offaly never threatened home 'keeper Damien Fitzhenry.
SCORERS ā Wexford: D Lyng 1-4, D Redmond 3-0, S Banville 1-2, P Carley 0-3f; S Nolan (f), C Farrell, A Shore, R Jacob, S Doyle 0-1 each. Offaly: S Doyle 0-7 (0-6f),J Bergin, C Parlon, B Carroll 0-2 each, K Brady, R Hanniffy, D Currams, D Molloy, 0-1 each.
Wexford ā D Fitzhenry; M Travers, D OāConnor, A OāConnell; M Jacob, S Nolan, D Stamp; C Farrell, C Kenny; D Lyng, A Shore, P Carley; R Jacob, S Banville, D Redmond. Subs: R Kehoe for Stamp (inj 28 mins); S Doyle for Carley (55); K Rossiter for OāConnor (59); E Martin for Shore (63); N Kirwan for Farrell (65).
Offaly ā B Mullins; D Franks, G Oakley, S Wynne; K Brady, C Horan, P Cleary; R Hanniffy, J Rigney; C Parlon, J Bergin, D Molloy; B Carroll, S Dooley, D Currams. Subs: J Brady for Currams (43); M Verney for Wynne (47); C Hernon for Franks (inj 65).
Some performance by Stephen Doyle. Scores a point for Wexford and 7 points for Offaly!

A thoroughly fantastic weekend for Wexford GAA and a miserable one for Cork. I wonder will the camogie players go on strike now?

Report from Hoganstand:
Wexford gave All Ireland champions Cork a guard of honour before their Division One National League clash in Killurin, however, the pleasantries stopped there as the home side went on to top Group Two defeating the Red and White 0-10 to 1-4 while qualifying for the league final against either Tipperary or Kilkenny on April 25.
Their hard-fought win in blustery conditions means they acquired maximum points from all of their three games. The visitors, meanwhile, needed to beat the Purple and Gold to force a three-way play-off that would involve Galway, Cork and Wexford. However, forced to line out minus the injured Mary OāConnor was a big blow to their ambitions.
The Slaneysiders opened well. After playing with the gale, they led 0-8 to 1-1 at the break - notable was the display of both defences, but in particular ine Codd and Mary Leacy who stood out in the Wexford half back line. Kate Kelly was in good form at midfield scoring five points, where she made a formidable partnership with Caroline Murphy.
Gemma OāConnor netted the Cork goal on 25 minutes, but this failed to inspire Cork to greater things. They had points from Orla Cotter, Eimear OāSullivan and Rachel Moloney, but Wexford were staunch and resolute and with Ursual Jacob firing three points, they held out for a merited win.
Good Counsel out on Bank Holiday Monday in the Senior A Hurling final v Thurles.
Both good teams by all reports so should be a great game. Hopefully the Wexford school takes home the silverware.

Looking forward to this game on Easter Monday,as i said before GCC need to approach this game with some caution if theyre going to win it imo, they should definitely move Ian Duggan back to corner back, bring Matthew O Hanlon back to centre back thus restoring Alan Nolan and Joe Lyng to wing backs, ive seen thier last 3 games and id reckon Alan Nolan looks a lot more comfortable at wing back than in the cornefr where he was against Gort CS,considering that Thurles CBS scores are mostly coming from the inside forward line i reckon they need the sureness of Ian Duggan back there. These few switches would mean moving Walter Walsh to midfield, hed be more effective at full forward imo but they must build from the back to win this game,up front they have very good personnel but need to get them firing earlier in these games,id have Ger Aylward at full forward where hes nearer the goal and the ball gets to him more directly, the GCC tail of above average hurlers consisting of any 3 of Nicky Doyle,Lorcan French,Syl Barron,Matthew Coady and Colm Foran need to hurl above themselves for GCC to prevail. My sources are telling me that my fellow clubman Conor Joyce,a very big lad,a little slow but with a hand like a magnet and lots of hurling is flying lately and will start,if so he can only be full forward id say.The following is the team id start, it wouldnt be the ideal team but they have a few gaps to fill.
Kevin Kehoe(St Mullins)
Ian Duggan(Mullinavat) James Breen(Adamstown) Ml Furlong(Adamstown)
Alan Nolan(tmon/camross) MatthewOHanlon(St James) JOe Lyng(Rwr/Inistioge)
