Wexford GAA 2009

Who is the wexford centre back, art?

stephen nolan ?

Whoever he is, he has the slowest striking action I have ever seen for an intercounty centrre backā€¦

And I include Conor Plunkett in that

Wexford starting to claw there way back into itā€¦Have they the breeze second half?

slower than gilli over a free ?

looks like they have a breeze in the second half by the flags

they need to get out in front of their men more, biffos getting the breaking balls but they also seem to be diving on the sliothar a bit as well

Offaly doing their best to fuck this game away with some terrible shooting second half

itā€™s fizzled out awfully in the 2nd half, only 6 scores in the 2nd half

some shocking defending by wexford (loose passes and clearances) complimenting the biffos terrible shooting

well we were far from our normal of the league form and the biffos did their best to fuck it away

still though, the amount of times oakley hit the dirt to win soft frees was disgraceful:mad:

I had you down for a much younger man, didnt realise you were in your fifties

Sounded like an awful 2nd half there on the radio with Offaly having done just about enough in the first to keep Wexford at bay.
Lost count of Offalys wides. Maybe bandage was ticking them?
Things looking ominous now for the Wexicans going into Champo.

Bleurgh.

bulimia is not the answer flano,

Good appraisal of Wexfords performance there Spano

But is a question that needs answering though.

The first half was a decent enough spectacle, I wonder how much wexford wanted to win it, they didnā€™t exactly bust a gut second halfā€¦suppose it is good motivation ahead of their championship meetingā€¦

Travers scored a noble point half way through the second half as well

Wexford lads looked like they couldnā€™t give a shit about the promotion, glad to see Offaly won.

Yeah, it really looked like we werenā€™t arsed today. Hopefully keeping it for a few weeks time.
Nolan ainā€™t good at centre back. He was always the slowest man to do anything anyway. Should be trying to make a centre back out of Richie Kehoe.
Ciaran Kenny was always a poor inter county player imo, Pat Kenny was awful, Banville went missing, Shore wasnā€™t good enough. Roche, Redmond and Gizzy were about the only ones to do well today.

A bit harsh, though I take your point as they hardly began as though they were bursting a gut to win promotion back to Div 1. Maybe they fancied another season of running rings around the likes of Kerry and Carlow.

Iā€™m wondering just how much complacency had set in with the Wexford lads having beaten the Biffs so handily in the regular NHL. There are serious problems in the FB line that Bonnar has to get sorted out between now and May 30. That and keep Keith Rossiter permanently in a hyperbaric chamber or oxygen tent until then to get him back at No 3 asap.

BTW, I just threw an egg at you. Nothing personal. The juvenile in me wanted to see the feature working!

Utter gash today. Frankly, it was embarrasing. The intensity, workrate and commitment need to be the starting point and we didnā€™t have any of that. You might get away with strolling around like fannies if youā€™re extremely gifted and can pull something out of the fire but weā€™re just not good enough either. So mix a piss poor attitude with a lack of quality and you get that crap. I was fooking seething watching it.

Not attacking the ball, dangling hurleys out one-handed, standing off them, pulling out of tackles - we had it all today. They simply werenā€™t arsed putting their bodies on the line. Itā€™s all well and good saying weā€™ll have extra motivation for the championship clash but today was really important for the future development of the team - we need to be playing better teams to get better ourselves.

Again, thereā€™s no point whining about the system and saying ā€˜playing in Division 2 is doing nothing for hurling in Wexfordā€™. We had a presentable opportunity to get back up to Division 1 and we werenā€™t good enough to take it. Itā€™s our own fault. How the management looked at some of the players for 50 minutes before bringing on anyone was also quite laughable. Deary fooking me.

is it possible they might be more comfortable in Div 2? they were cat

Thatā€™s the most concerning thing. Were some of them happy to avoid Kilkenny et al next year? It sure looked like it to me.
