Wexford GAA 2009

It will do them no good playing Division 2 again next year with the like of Westmeath, Clare and Laois. They need to be playing against top tier sides as often as possible.

Thatā€™s what I said above - we need to play better teams to get better ourselves. Some people will complain about the system but itā€™s our own fault - we didnā€™t deserve to win today so Division 2 is where we belong. Who came up from Division 3?

What a caic game of hurling, boring, lifeless, no intensity, short on skill, etc, etc

Iā€™m concentrating on the camoige this yearā€¦

More bad news for Wexford - apparently Matty Forde badly tore his hamstring playing for Kilanerin last week and will be struggling for our championship opener on June 13. Heā€™s riddled with ankle and back injuries too and I reckon thereā€™s an element of all of them being interlinked. It could be his last season playing inter-county, which would be a shame as heā€™s only 28.

Why could it be his last year, is he emigrating?

Riddled with Injury

There was an article in the Wexford People about a month ago stating that Barry Lambert was set to return to training with St Martinā€™s but his recent shoulder surgery would preclude him from playing with Wexford this season. I was wondering, ā€˜how can you be fit enough to hit the ball and take knocks wearing a maroon jersey but not a purple and gold one?ā€™ Anyway, it turns out that Lambertā€™s operation was pretty severe and complex and required the reconstruction of his shoulder. Apparently he was completely bemused by the report and he wonā€™t be in a position to resume any kind of serious training with physical contact until September at the earliest. It confirms what a joke of a paper The Wexford People is.

forde

matty out for the first round lads? heard he got a baitin against the starlights.

Posted about it on the previous page - he got a fairly bad hamstring tear and, combined with a load of other injury niggles, heā€™ll be doubtful for the Kildare game all right.

with the standard of sports editors there what would you expect?

What was the story behind that again. I think it blew up on AFR if I remember correctly.

Well if he played as bad as he did against the Starlights he wont really be missed in fairness. The Kildare/Offaly match is still a good 5 weeks away so ye never now.

no, that was the general editor of the Echo that Bandage thinks is a clown because he wrote up a report on the Wexford hurlers but the rotund one thinks he is a bandwagoner of the highest proportions.

I donā€™t know how it manages it but The Wexford Echo is even worse than The Wexford People.

The day they both sold out to companies from outside the county was the day they both died.

Are there any provincial newspapers left that are not part of a media group?

County team heading to london this weekendā€¦ training camp job or session?

Which of the county teams was in London for the weekend?

Stephen Banvilleā€™s been retrospectively banned for 4 weeks for milling some Biff in the League final. Heā€™ll miss our championship game against them as a result.

Footballers were over there

Any word on Rossiter. Is he injured or what?
