Both right, wouldnât have guessed OâGorman in a million years, great player all the same. Didnât he end playing with Kilkenny for a few games after he moved there? Bandage I take it you read the book?
Nope, havenât read the book padjo - just knew what a legend OâGorman was for us. He transferred to Dicksboroâ in Kilkenny when he was a veteran but Iâm not sure if he played with Kilkenny - maybe he did. Matty Forde must be close to his appearance record given heâs been playing for the best part of a decade now and the qualifier era means more games for us.
I hear Wexford were beaten by Limerick in a hurling challenge match today on a score of 12 points to 9
He could well beâŚChristy Ring has the most appearances, think it is 55, Davy Fitz is second with 52 and Frank Lohan is third with 51âŚThere are a good few present day players that would be in the late forties like Henry Shefflin, Fitzhenry, Colin Lynch and Michael KavanaghâŚ
Think Fitzy played his 50th against Waterford last year in the Quarter-Final.

Spollen sinks Wexford
Monday January 12 2009
Westmeath put in a strong second period of extra time to fashion a two-point victory over Wexford in Monamolin.
Wexford led 1-2 to 0-4 after 15 minutes, with the goal coming from Pat Naughter, and it was the Model who held a 1-7 to 1-6 interval lead.
After exchanging scores, a Naughter point on 58 minutes levelled the sides and forced extra time.
Westmeath then had a great spell, with a Tory McGowan point and a Francis Spollen goal giving them a four-point lead, and they held on for the win.

How was Cullen at fault if he wasnât playing?!
I see elsewhere that Wexford keeper went off with a very bad leg injury. maybe cullen came on for him? I dont see any mention of the keeper being subbed in the indo article though.
Youâve faith in the accuracy of Irish Independent match reports?!
FFS Mac, you should know better!
Aidy wouldnt be the tallest keeper around. Good shot stopper, but a high ball in a crowded box and its not safe. Think there are far better keepers around, but if Gavin Morris and Tom Hughes are in with a shout, theyâll be the ones kept on.
Should I believe a national newspaper or âsome dickâ
Wexford won the coin toss and weâll be hosting Offaly in Wexford Park in the Leinster Hurling Championship at the end of May.
However, this is the first game in a home and away agreement that covers both hurling and football. As a result, weâll have to travel to Tullamore if Offaly beat Kildare in the Leinster Football Championship first round.
I fooking try to avoid setting foot in Offaly where possible so letâs hope Kildare win that tie and we get to play them in Carlow in the quarter final instead.
Colm Bonnarâs first âcompetitiveâ game in charge of the hurlers is on Sunday in the Walsh Cup against Dublin - itâs a 2pm throw-in in Ferns.
Edit: I think this will be the first Wexford inter-county hurling championship game to take place in Wexford Park in my lifetime and Iâm 27. Mad.

Where did you hear this from, Bandage?
No mention of it on hoganstand.com or the Wexford GAA website.

Some lad called Dirk mentioned it on the supporters site. Whats the Wexford site youâre speaking about Menapian?

I think 1981 was the last time it happened. Before I was born.

A journalist acquaintance of mine let me know. It should be announced in the papers tomorrow. Surprised itâs not up on the 'net yet.
The official Wexford GAA website. A triumph of hope over experience on my part, I suppose.
I read what Dirk wrote on the Wexford supporters site, I just wanted to see some official confirmation of it before I start planning my summer!
Would this be the site youâre talking about? http://wexford.gaa.ie/page/fixtures.html
Iâll draw your attention to the date of the latest fixtures!
It was 1981 against Dublin in the Leinster Quarter Final. I have only hazy memories of it. I remember Seanie Kinsella having a good game and Wexford winning comfortably. Scored 3 goals, I think.
Itâs really great to have Championship games back in Wexford Park. Better to have 20K creating a good atmosphere in this fine, underused stadium than having them rattling around like peas in a whistle in a cavernous Croker.
I called Wexford Park this morning and asked them what the outcome of the toss was. The dude said he could only tell me that the match would be played in Wexford. Thanks boss, I wasnât too concerned as to whether it was heads or tails.
