Wexford GAA 2012

BOOM! Hello Division 2!

We left them back into the game after a good start and only really kicked for home when they had two men sent off within a few minutes of each other. Another impressive score ran up but an inability to raise the green flag seems to be an issue for us.

Now hopefully Jason can give a few of the young fellas like Regan a run next weekend and try a few things out before we head to the final and look forward to seeing a St James’ Man lift the cup!

Ahhhhhh lovely! :pint:

We deffo promoted then?

Yup.

Hurling score line was about right in Ennis , Clare led 1-6 to a point after 20 mins and Wexford never threatened, awful 2 nd half, wex no 3 sent off for 2 yellows

Well done to the Wexford hurlers and footballers. Its not often we qualify for 2 league finals in the same year with a game to spare for both sides.

Its a good thing Carlow will be promoted from Div 2, because at this rate they’d clean us out as well. We;ve now shipped 13 goals in the league. Does one team get relegated / promoted? Westmeath will fancy it against Wexford next year at this rate.

We do seem to have sorted out our issue to running up a good total of points. This was our big failing in the last few years in League and Championship.

Our defence is shocking though and teams are just going to run at us all year unless we sort it out quickly. We played 30 minutes of the game yesterday with 14 men as well so a seven-point loss wasn’t as bad as it may have been.

If we can stay up and avoid a hammering in the championship with the new charges I think it will have been a year of progress for Dunne.

Full Time: Wexford 4-18 Laois 0-15.

It’s great to be back in a final. I think it’s fixed for April 15th and we’ll face the same opposition.

In All fairness Wexford are the county that have suffered most in the drive to take all the dirt out of hurling.

Thats jokes about as old as you are Fagan.

BTW, i was very impressed with that young Guiney lad in the game v Clare, lovely style, what age is he? Is he related to Dave/Rod?

He’s Daves son. He was on the minor team last year.

just out of minor and is Dave’s son according to yesterdays Sindo

The Division 1B B Final has been fixed for Nowlan Park on Sunday, 15th April at 2pm.

Anyone go to the game yesterday? How did O’Hanlon get on in midfield? Has he any experience playing there? He was always in the full back line since coming into the county minor set up.

John Leacy has left the senior hurling panel to join up with the senior football panel.

:o

was actually talking to a club mate of his yesterday who couldnt believe he hadnt done so already, before this came out.

Ryan with a rake of changes for the Longford game. Good oppertunity to try lads out without any consequences on the result

What was the club mate getting at Gman? Surprised he hadn’t moved earlier because football is now deemed more attractive or due to the hurling not going well collectively or management’s specific use of Leacy?

bit of everything really. that he considered him a better footballer, that Dunne was making a fool of him, and that the football has a better set up.

its strange now seeing most of that age bracket have mostly chosen football. Even lads who wouldnt consider it being their better game like McGovern, Chin and Shore. Kent didnt even get a chance to go with the hurling.

Heard Leacy just doesn’t like hurling anymore. May not even tog for U21s. Sounds like hurling burnout or something, a fella that played 3 years for minors remember.
