Wexford GAA 2013

1-2 to 0-4 up coming up to half time. from twitter

I can’t think of a decent retort. So, so, so fuck you Bandage.

1-4 to 0-5 at the half anyone at it?

sounds like a good tight game, 3 mins to go and winning 1-8 to 0-10.

In extra time now. Winners play longford after they beat Dublin 1-6 to 1-5

Man sent off for Westmeath.

Kilkenny missed a free to get a draw for Dublin.

Level 1-10 to 0-13 with 6 mins to go

Westmeath two up.

Westmeath ahead by 2 now.

A goal…for Wexford and by Wexford I mean Wexford…

Great win.

Tis over indeed.

Take that you shower of unoriginal midland cunts…

Ah lovely - a repeat of the 2011 Leinster Final in the next round. Mouthwatering stuff.

Is Graeme Cullen related to Shane Cullen?

Just texting someone who was at the game tonight. Westmeath got a free around 40 metres out with less than half a minute left in extra time. They played it backwards to try to keep hold of it and wind the clock down. It was handpassed all the way back towards their own goal and some lad slipped as he went to accept a pass, allowing us to nip in and score. The referee blew it up immediately after the kick-out.

Younger brother.

Fantastic stuff! There incredible scenes no doubt.

Ha! fucking idiots! delighted for them! and us!

I can confirm that Graeme Cullen scored our last gasp winning goal last night, despite national newspaper reports to the contrary.

Looking ahead to the weekend’s senior hurling clash with Offaly, I think the litany of injuries to our forwards is likely to scupper our promotion chances. It’s a real shame because I think genuine progress was being made but it’s going to be very difficult to get that translated to results in the short term with at least 4 starting forwards missing in Lyng, PJ Nolan, Guiney and McGovern.

I don’t think we have the squad depth to cope and, in fairness, even the best teams would be adversely affected by it. But we need to be competitive in the games against Offaly, Dublin and Limerick and work towards getting as many players back for the championship as possible.

And Dublin in Wexford Park in June is definitely a winnable fixture for us. I imagine that’s why we brought them to Bellefield for the Walsh Cup final and are bringing them to Bellefield again for the league clash – we don’t want to give them a feel for fortress Wexford Park before they come into the cauldron.
