Furlong did well in the corner in Louth alright. But agree with the general point that we could do with another specialist man marking, niggly, tigerish, annoying cunt of a corner back - Wadding and Malone are definitely more productive when powering forward from half back. As mentioned, Chin is the same too - he wasn’t comfortable marking McManamon in the Leinster semi-final last year, for example.
It’s come around quickly again but the U21 footballers are in action in the semi-final against Longford in Portlaoise tomorrow night.
Is Leacy a long term injury or something? Furlong played corner back on UCD’s Sigerson team, so he’s definitely an option there. Anyone else heading to Portlaoise?
I don’t recall anyone degrading the footballers. Someone may have made the point that gaelic football is a ridiculous abomination of a game that was only invented to pacify those that couldn’t play hurling.
Not my opinion but people are entitled to think gaelic football or hurling or real football or thugby are shit games if they so please.

I believe the statement i made was in relation to Mac putting up the team to play Louth and then simply stating, we will lose. it pissed me off at the time as 1. that wasnt the team that would be playing and 2. what would he know about it.
In any case i admit that there has been no degradation of the footballers, as yet, and I would like to apologise to anyone who may have been offended.

Person expresses opinion which you don’t agree with. Welcome to life. No need to get your knickers in a twist over it. Bandage also said we would lose that game but I don’t recall you getting so tetchy with him. Relax count, you’ll live longer.
Thank you for words Mac, i was tetchy the day in question…I dont recall Bandage stating we would lose the game, my apologies for not also castigating him also.
for the record I wasnt so sure we would win the game, but i believe it was the tone I infused into your statement. It’s completely my own issue which i will in time learn to overcome.
all over, 1-13 to 2-11. sounded like a great game. they get their revenge for the one point Leinster final loss. Going down by so much so early on obviously didnt help matters.

His sending off when Wexford were 5 points ahead was a ‘game changer’ and may well have cost Wexford footballers a chance of promotion. They need a victory on Sunday next to get back in the hunt.

That’s good but was Heslin cited for his diving? Bandage said he dived.
