Martins Chewie, Martins.
I presume there’s a huge contingent of Wexford posters (club commitments notwithstanding) heading to Kilkenny for the minor hurling this afternoon and staying overnight ahead of the camogie final tomorrow. PM me for details of the venue for pints this evening.
I’ve to head to watch some horses run around in circles today and do a charity cycle tomorrow so I won’t be in attendance unfortunately.
Oh woopdeedoo mac getting a charity ride at the weekend. No one gives a shit, a simple no would have sufficed
That’s it Art, let it all out.
Wexicans a couple of goals up. This straight knock out?
Not straight knock out. Winner to semi, loser to quarter as far as I know.
Half Time: Wexford 2-4 Kilkenny 1-4. Impressed with Wexford but they scored a good goal just before half time and will have the breeze in the second half.
Congrats on the win lads.
Great win and performance. Hat trick for Conor McDonald (unless someone else flicked home the first, in that case it would be a brace).
Outrageously good overhead volley double for the crucial third one. This lad reminds me of Tony Doran with more flair and pace.
Brilliant defending and collective workrate and some smashing displays by the backs, especially Conor Devitt at centre back.
With us playing against a stiff breeze, and with McDonald having got the second half goal, I said to my comrades that it was time to bring him out the field to lead us home. On cue Willie Cleary moved him to centre forward and he popped over a point in response to a run of Kilkenny scores.
The gaffer was quickly ushering the players off the park at full time. Nice to beat them but they’ll need to be beaten again. Very encouraging though. Well done squad and management.

Bandage, what was the final score and who do Wexford play next?
Lovely stuff, strawberry pickers on the way back.

It was 1985 when we last beat Kilkenny in the Leinster MHC! Historic day
3-7 to 1-10. Don’t know actually.
Dublin and Wexford into semis, Kilkenny play Kildare, Laois play Offaly, pretty sure thats all thats left in it.
great win for the minors. hopefully now they can win it out. they have often won big early round games, and then lost to that team later on, so hopefully we wont see a repeat of this
Willie Cleary was quick to point out that they beat Dublin last year at this stage and it did them fuck all use. Only scoring 1-3 in the 2nd half won’t win many games. And I doubt KK would give Conor Mac as much space if they come up against him again. He scored 3-4 or 3-5 out of 3-7 which is obviously great but he can’t do that every day.
In saying all that its great to beat the cunts and from listening to the management team on the radio this evening they won’t be getting carried away. As Liam Griffin was quick to point out, we’ve won nothing yet.
Great week for wexford underage GAA.
Many dual players lads?
The lads over the team are obviously quick to point stuff out so that’s really positive.
Would prefer if we were knocking over 16 points instead of scoring 3-7. Great for confidence though.
Best thing these lads could do now is relax and consider their year’s work done as everything will fall into place from here.
I know one lad playing today was on the football team that beat Louth on Wednesday and on the Gorey CS team that won the Soccer All Ireland or Leinster championship last weekend. Outside of that I’m not sure. An underage anorak like Gman would probably know more.
not many Kev. 2 on the first 15, and another in the squad. As mac said, one of the chaps, Donal Shanley, played an AI soccer final on Sunday, Louth on Wednesday and Kilkenny today. And played well in all the games too.
Off that hurling squad, there would be at least 7 of them that would be good enough to be pushing for a spot on the first 24 of the football, but have chosen to only play one of them.
you’re not a fan of the dual option?
I believe Conor Devitt, who was magnificent at centre back today, turned down invitations to join the minor and U21 football panels to concentrate on his hurling.
