Might have been a different story in Croke Park…
I’d like sid waddell to give an explanation for that beige jacket he was wearing this evening.
Any chance you still have that heroin?
We’re 11 Hurlers short of a decent inter county hurling team

He was an alright sort last weekend though.

In the cold light of day here’s some of the positives I’m going to try and take from yesterday.
Fanning - for a lad who’s been dodgy under the high ball before he looked far more assured albeit with massive protection from his full back line. Could do nothing about the goal. Needs to vary his puck outs a bit more.
Moore - ridiculously poor for their goal and completely at fault. The only blotch though and the number 2 shirt is now his.
Waters - was booked within first 10 mins and I think it was for the aftermatch of Shores red card. Didn’t expect him to finish the game but he hurled much better than I’ve seen before from him. Got a couple of lovely hooks and dispossessions in when his man had beaten him.
Kenny - late call up. Looked nervous. His first 2 balls he had to check back onto his right side and got caught out. Badly missed Rossi here. As Bandage suggested, moving his namesake back may have been a better move.
Kehoe - this lad infuriates me. Fumbles an easy catch when no-one on him. Hits long raking balls to no-one. Not afraid to use his physicality which is about the only good thing I can say. Mis-hits too many balls for an intercounty player.
Shore - badly missed after sending off. Hopefully the suspension won’t be too long. Deserved to get sent off.
Kenny - had to move to centre back when Shore was sent off. Drifted out of the game for parts. Don’t recall him doing too much apart from a few interventions in the 2nd half.
Chin - had to move to wing back after sending off which curbed his impact. One of the few players we have who looks up before passing. Would have had much bigger influence midfield I’d have thought.
Kehoe - one of his better games I thought. Kept fighting what was a losing battle which is more than can be said for a lot around him.
Sinnott - has bundles of ability but at time needs a good shake to wake him up. If he could be consistent for a full 70 mins he could be a star.
Quigley - not enough ball went through him which wasn’t his fault. He’s at his best when running straight at defences like in the lead up to the goal last week. Can’t remember him being involved at all yesterday unfortunately.
Redmond - moved to midfield after the sending off. A typical Redmond performance, that’s about all I can describe it as.
Jacob - not helped by numerous high balls being rained down on him. Every time he gets his man 1 on 1 he’ll beat him, score or draw a foul. Can’t understand why there’s not more low ball played to him.
Guiney - missed a few frees. Its like we’re not sure where he should be played. Would prefer to see him more involved in open play.
Morris - greater influence when moved out around midfield in 2nd half. Looks the type of player we need to have more involved that tucked away in the corner.
Not bothered mentioning the subs
Wexford will continue their death spiral into obscurity until they get a proper hurling man like John Meyler back in charge.
