Maybe we should try that
Full Time: Wexford 1-24 Offaly 1-15. We were losing 1-10 to 0-7 at one stage in the first half. Our point taking and brand of hurling is coming on under the great Liam Dunne.
Kilkenny at a home venue in the semi-final next Sunday. Bring them to Fortress Blackwater.
Double header with the Longford game in the football would be better, and by better I mean cheaper.
dual player issue.
That will be an issue regardless of where it’s played. The game v Kilkenny is fixed for next weekend anyhow.
they want to play on Saturday so that dual players are available on sunday.
I’ll probably be in Wexford next weekend and I’d like to see the hurling match. Not so much the football. It’ll be too cold to have a double header so they’ll just have to play the hurling in Blackwater, surely. The hurling on Saturday wouldn’t really suit me either and I’m sure the authorities will take this into consideration.
I presume “they” means Wexford and not Kilkenny?
you presume correctly.
Lads, who are the main players on the senior hurling team I should be aware of this year?
Jim Byrne and Seanie Colfer are two to watch I believe
Tell me more of these giants of men you speak of KIB Man.

Watch maybe, one of them in particular is a bit harder lo listen to than the other…
What’s the story with Dunne announcing the team so early?
Trying to force O’Brien into steering clear of naming Shore, Chin or O’Regan on the football panel? Obviously O’Regan would barely make the bench anyhow.
Pretty much, fomr what i hear Shore and chin probably wont be playing anyway…the hurling that is…

Bandage will be seething.
I’m surprised at O Regan playing more hurling than football at this stage. I wouldnt have rated him that much as a hurler. He is a decent footballer if he got his head right, but I think he is too lumbering and awkward for hurling. At least in the football he would give a bit of trouble to full backs. Would nearly say the opposite for Shore, altho I was impressed with teh couple of games I saw him play in the league last year. But I think he is a better hurler. Chin is pretty much level at both, so I think he will be the toughest to predict where he’ll end up long term.
I’m not necessarily seething for two reasons:
i) I respect Aidan O’Brien;
ii) The League, even in football, is more important than The Walsh Cup.
I’m not sure if Liam Dunne is laying down a marker by naming the team on Monday night and including dual players. To be honest, team lineups mean fuck all at the best of times, especially at this time of year, but it doesn’t bode well for co-operation between both managers if it is a bit of game-playing. I acknowledge that I’m sitting on the fence and engaging in speculation here though.
Fitzy, we’re going to have a really excellent hurling team very soon. Our use of the ball and support play is improving apace and we’re racking up sizeable point tallies - no longer are we relying on scrappy goals to stay in games; we’re popping over points from all angles with our fast, intelligent and incisive play. We need more toughness to make ourselves harder to play against as a unit but that’s coming gradually as these young players gain more experience. I won’t name individuals at the moment but we remind me of David O’Leary’s Leeds United squad. Greatness awaits.
I think Chin is a much better hurler than footballer.
