Full Time: Wexford 0-11 Dublin 0-16.
Poor enough game. Wind was more cross field than end to end so wasn’t much of a factor. They brought it back to a points, but Dublin just upped a gear and rattled off 3 quick points and killed off any hope. Never really got into it, not much intensity and the venue IMO contributed to a meek atmosphere and didn’t inspire much support. Big crowd at it tho, and pretty hard to get a decent view of the game.
Full Time: Wexford 1-18 Clare 1-15.
was on the phone earlier writing that. it was 2 points that they got as close as. Dublin were just all round better. Their touch, shooting, and they were just physically bigger and stronger all over the field. Our lads never really got any foothold in the game. Early on we sent in some nice cross field balls to the corners, but didnt win any, and after that we resorted to lumping big high balls in on our small 2 man full forward line. We should have stuck with the game plan and kept it going that way, as Firman and Pepper looked good whenever they got on the ball. But they were never going to physically outmuscle one or 2 players much bigger than them. Kevin Poole started in place of Sam Kelly, and was effective out around the middle and got a lot of ball. Was quieter in the second half. We gave away some very silly frees though. Twice Michael O Brien at full back picked the ball off the ground in front of goal around the 21. I think both teams have more to give, but I think they are still a level above us. We had one close chance of a goal when Daire Barden got a flick onto a sideline ball in but the keeper made a good save to keep it out. that would have brought us right in it coming towards the last few minutes.
Wasnt to be though, so we play I think the winner of Westmeath and Kildare next.
Team for today’s challenge.

Brendan Furlong has an exclusive interview with Tomás Waters in this week’s Wexford People. Waters confirms he’ll play no part in the provincial championship and acknowledges he’ll struggle to feature for Wexford at all this season due to the severity of his injury and the complications that ensued afterwards.
The minor footballers open their provincial campaign away to Louth this afternoon.
Anyone have any results from last nights championship games?
In Senior Sarsfields beat Fintans by 2-6 to 0-7, while Gusserane v Anne’s was postponed, re-fixed for tonight.
Our minor footballers are giving Louth a trouncing
1-17 to 1-5 or something
That should read 3-15 to 1-4.
The high profile recruits to the backroom staff are paying dividends
St Anne’s and Gusserane drew in senior football the other night.
Sarsfields received a walkover from Horeswood in junior football yesterday. What has become of the former south county powerhouse?
Another Brendan Furlong exclusive in today’s Wexford People where it was revealed that the Wexford Park Chief Steward, Dave Ormonde, has reported Liam Dunne to the County Disciplinary Committee. This results from a verbal exchange between Dunne and Ormonde on the day of the National Hurling League Quarter Final clash with Kilkenny about a gate not being open or something. Dave Ormonde is a member of Clonard GAA club.
Those fucking Clonard cunts. Despicable shower of pricks.

Is it normal for Horeswood and Fethard to play against each other in their normal jersies? Because it looks fucking ridiculous.

it was utter fucking gash and completely stupid @Appendage . I wouldnt mind but Fethard have a fetching white kit that they could (and should) have worn. this isnt the first time this has happened either. constantly wearing red against the likes of Horeswood, Castletown, Sars etc where there is an obvious clash. this evening was awful though, the evening sunlight made it even more difficult to pick them apart. I think players at times got confused too.

Horeswood did offer to wear their second kit, but that is red as well.
Fethard usually wear their white jerseys against us alright.

Surprised a few members of the Fethard Panel didnt have some spray paint to hand, to help the situation.
We only have red tho, so still left with same problem.
