Wexford GAA 2014

Unchanged U21 hurling team named for semi-final against Offaly in Wexford Park tomorrow evening. I’m chalking this down as a comfortable Wexford victory and won’t be making the trip down from the capital…same as last year versus Antrim.

Is it on TG4?

Edit: Yes it is.

Why in the fuck would that be on TG4.

Why wouldn’t it?

Because the current Leinster champions are playing.

Hurling is a sport which is followed by a large number of the irish population, TG4 obviously realise this and are trying to attract a large number of viewers to their station for the game tonight. With this increased number of people watching they will be in a position to charge more for advertising slots during the game, or for future games. Ultimately it will lead to increased revenue for the station at minimal expense to them.

TG4 GAA have confirmed on twitter that Wexford-Offaly will be shown live tomorrow night. That’s convenient.

Offaly management team was selected in March so they’ll obviously be thoroughly prepared. Seemingly they have a decent team in comparison to some years.

As Bandage alluded to, this is like Antrim all over again.

I’d expect us to win though. Knowing nothing at all about Offaly except that it’s a kip.

Bump. TG4 now, chaps.

Straight red card for Garrett Foley.

The boys are digging in and starting to play a bit.

5-2 up with 14.

What did he do?

There was a glaring goal missed there a moment ago. Shocking from 6 yards

Devitt for the senior team please.

I hope he didn’t bite anyone

Great catch and kick

Jaysus McDonald is some man to catch a ball

Umpire’s call. Said he digged the hurl into some lad’s ribs off the ball. You could see him making the gesture to the ref.

McDonald - what a fucking talent!

Sitter missed by Rhys Clarke alright before that.

Guiney’s had 5 wides so far - 3 from long distance frees and 2 from play. Drop them into McDonald, chaps.

1-7 to 0-2. '25 gone.

2-9 to 0-2. Clarke with the goal this time. Guiney with a long ball, flicked first time by McDonald into Clarke’s path to pick on the run and finish.
