Wexford GAA 2014

Offaly really are scandalous

Red card for the Offaly full forward now. Same umpire bringing it to the referee’s attention.

HT: Wexford 2-9 Offaly 0-2.

We’ll need to be much better when we come up against hurling counties.

Some haircut on that ref.

I saw someone comment somewhere that Offaly would be strong as they were taking this seriously as they have had their management team in place since March. Only about 4 or 5 months behind any decent hurling county. They really are a shambles

Merciful hour but the biffos are simply woegeous.
Where are all the hurling diehards that trampled all over the playing surface after jimmy cooney’s premature whistle? Surely there’s some few coaches in the county?
Loughnane’s “fat bellies and arses” remark only addresses part of the problem.
Westmeath, Carlow and Laois all have more to show at underage level than Offaly since their last all-ireland. This is organisational incompetence on a grand scale.
They must be more in the red after the Tullamore revamp than they let on.

Westmeath on the otherhand are putting up a credible performance against Dublin and are level at half time 0-9 to 1-6.

As someone on here said previously if Kildare hurling got their act together they could overtake Offaly in the not too distant future

It’s amazing how bad things have got there. They really are a shambles. Nothing coming through and it only looks like getting worse in the next few years.

The fucking gut on the Offaly full back!

Presume he is the same lad as last year. Good hurler but fair butty and beefy. To make it worse he is part of the senior panel. Some conditioning

How in the name of Christ does a (purportedly) under 21 full back become a stone overweight?
That’s an impressive level of obesity for a lad with his metabolism.
Absolute nonsense. I haven’t seen a muffin top the like of it since Michael Wadding in his pomp reffing from between the 65s.

This is the same county that produced Shane Lowry and Daithi Regan dont forget

We’ve been fairly crap. We need much better combination play, support options and players running off the man in possession to take passes at pace. We’re a bit too one dimensional and there’s some aimless shooting and general play.

Centre forward for Offaly actually seems decent enough. The lad number 3, despite being a good bit overweight seems decent too

We’ve been shocking the last 20 mins.

Wexford GK a fairly beefy individual too.

FT: Wexford 2-17 Offaly 0-13. I know the result wasn’t in question after half time but not good to be outscored 0-11 to 0-8 in the second half. We weren’t much better than the Antrim game last year.

On a line of form through Wexford, Kilkenny are at the same level as Offaly.

the handicap for Dublin v wexford is 15 points…while I expect Dublin to win that seems an awful lot considering wexford do have a good few scoring forwards and Dublin do allow teams to play… IIRC The Artist formerly known as Bandage also rates the wexford midfielder one of the best fielders in Ireland so they should win a good amount of possession to feed those forwards…whats the wexford’s defense like ?..are they man to man or do they funnel players back?..

Wexford have a propensity to leak goals this is why it is so high I would imagine.

15 is still high though. 2008 Leinster Final the last time we would have lost by anything close to that margin I’d say.
