Any surprises?

Not really. I think Simon Donohoe is a great corner or wing back prospect though. Fast, fearless, attacks every ball despite not being very big physically, loves to tear upfield with possession. I’d compare him to Seadhna Morey but that might be inaccurate. A couple of goalkeepers dropped and some of last year’s U21s but nobody who would have been a certain starter.

Vincent Hogan in today’s Irish Independent on Andrew Shore’s 48-week ban.

The dirty Tipp cunt can’t resist mentioning that the Tipp delegate voted to re-instate Keady in 1989 conveniently forgetting that it was the sangwidge-eaters that ratted on him in the first place.

On the main topic, Shore is being completely disproportionately punished here.

I wonder did Brendan go through the proper channels to get those quotes?

A good advertisement for Gain Feeds if I ever saw one alright…

Well he has nobody to blame so only himself and Liam Dunne should shut up trying to defend it - was/is he even living in the UK at the time? Seems to me he thought he could make a quick buck and got caught he deserves his suspension

Exactly. The facts are Andrew Shore does not and has never lived in the UK ( So his transfer contained a false address) Andrew Shore travelled over especially to play in a Junior B club championship match for a club who he has no links with ( His motive being what?) He works full time for a club in Dublin. What is happening now is the Wexford machine is flexing its muscles and using cronies at the indo to pave the way for the mercy committee to let him back. I believe they know now that an appeal is futile because of some paperwork confirming he knew his transfer was invalid.

Anybody who believes a player should be banned for a year for playing a diddy match in Coventry is clearly a retard.

I think he does deserve a suspension. This kind of transferring for a weekend tournament or game is ridiculous. I was stupid in the extreme to think that this would be ok to do.

However, the length of the ban is farcical. I think I already spoke of a guy I know from Galway who got suspended for a year over confusion arising from playing Australia. 48 weeks is far, far too much for a transfer violation like this.

I don’t think the ban I harsh. Playing illegal players in all sports carries heavy sanctions whether it was intentional or not.

it would be farcical in situations where there is maybe an admin or a timing error or even an ignorance of the rules and therefor complete innocence on both sides.
the Andrew Shore transfer was solely a one off financial arrangement based on a perceived weakness of the administration of a certain regional board and in no way comparable to a fella who is travelling in australia and gone from his club and wants to play a bit of ball. Shore deserves his ban.

still think being banned for a year in an amateur sport for playing a mickey mouse game in Coventry is a joke.
