Wexford GAA 2015

Lee Chin will be officially opening the new TK Maxx store in Wexford town at 10am on Thursday morning.

Anyone going back to Mullingar this Sunday?
I might, not very optimistic about a win though…

TFK Maxx store hahaha.

Whoop. Whoop.

Damien Fitzhenry is part of the management team surely if he thought Breen was the better keeper he would have him on the team.

I wonder why Dunne doesn’t have a forwards coach(former intercounty player). He has fitzy to help with keepers and cushe with defence. Tom Dempsey would be the perfect man for the job.

The “forwards coach” that is currently there should have nothing to do with intercounty teams. His time is long gone.

Was Liam Griffin not forwards coach some time recently?

The first two named are selectors.

Why would Dempsey be any use?

I don’t think scoring rates were our problem last year. Liam Griffin could’ve easily fucked off like loughnane and taken the dolla but he didn’t. Just because he’s in his 60s doesn’t mean his time has past.

Is Griffin the forwards coach still? A knowledgeable man told me his main role was on the video analysis side. I don’t know really.

My point was griffin has been involved with many Wexford teams since 96, it has nothing to do with age.

Surely Dunne and selectors are enough to pick a team and get tactics right. I couldn’t imagine Griffin doing video analysis but fair play if he is.

not sure why you think he wouldnt be, at the end of the day its about picking out certain aspects of play from cameras and stats that are being compiled by others. He was instrumental in purchasing the contract with Avenir sports. Wont go into how much it cost, but it was a fairly large sum of money to be spending on it. considering some of the stuff that the board wont give a penny on which pisses off a lot of people and players especially, I was fairly surprised at how much they spent on this considering they already had another video analysis contract. So the footballers and hurlers use 2 different video analysis companies, spending large sums of money on both.

this is so fuckin typical of Wexford GAA surely a deal could have been brokered where he same company is retained to do both teams at a lower cost?

What teams has Griffin been involved in since 96? i was hear that he’s tenuously involved in teams but i’d like to know what teams he ha actually been involved with.

Different games and therefore …ah I couldn’t even try to wind you up on this one. That’s infuckingsane.

Griffin’s role must be minimal enough role , as I saw him tucking into lunch with friends, at the Enfield Motorway services an hour before throw in ! An interesting quote from this weeks People " Mark fanning and his team were on a different wavelength when it came to puck outs"

Who’s quote is that?

being involved in video analysis doesnt necessarily mean he has to be with the team as they do all their prep work the day of a game. Most analytic work comes partially during the game, mostly afterwards, and then relaying that info back to management and players.

+1.

I regard Liam Griffin as a great man and a gentleman. He’s also very unassuming and accommodating and is happy to help Wexford hurling in any way possible, if asked. It’s not as if he’s stomping around and demanding to be involved in every inter-county set up. He’s been invited by Liam Dunne to provide assistance to him and I’m delighted he accepted. Go Liam and Liam.
Who’s quote is that?
Indeed, the netminder didn’t appear to be on the same wavelength as some of his colleagues in the last quarter, with Westmeath prospering as a result. Alan Aherne Wexford People this week.

Kevin Rowe kicked a hat trick this evening as the Wexford juniors beat Longford.
