A parent of one of the players told me this was the case just before throw inā¦
The only player that looked up to inter county Standard on Sunday was McGovern. To be far to the Full back and full forward lines they were up against a losing battle as midfield seemed to give zero shits about whatever Dublin wanted to do.
I get the impression that between Dunne, the players and the Co Board thereās a collective acceptance that we just need to get this season out of the way and move on to the next chapter, like the need of the Bonner and Meyler tenures. What worries me is that weāre not going to learn any lessons from this at all.
Are there any thoughts on the ground back home on possible successors? I know JJ is being mentioned all over the place but is he actually worth a fuck? I reckon the players need a voice that theyāll respect based on what theyāve done in order for everyone to buy into it. Also given the state of some of them on Saturday we could do with a decent fitness coach.
I had been hearing all week that Chin had no knee injury at all. Picked up a hand injury against Ferns but he was certain to start. He was to start centre forward. Dunneās attempts to play mind games backfired in a big way. Obviously werenāt aware of the new rules and didnāt name a number 26 thinking they could just add Chin to the panel.
If this is the case he should be taken out and shot
That sounds complete bullshit to be fair.
If it had been the case it would have come out and, at the very least, Dunne is know for whinging to the media so he would have come out slamming the new rules after the āmistakeā became apparent and tried to get Chin back on the panel that way.
Well I was told Friday night and mentioned it here Saturday morning. Chinās replacement was only informed he was starting a few hours before the match. Why would they not name him on the panel if they thought there was a possibility he would be fit? They say he was passed fit on Thursday which was 2 full days before the match. Theyāre hardly going to admit they didnāt know the rules.
Rules are pretty black and white. They would have had to forfeir the game if they added him to the panel. http://limerickgaa.ie/new-rules-for-team-lists-and-match-day-panels/
an absolute fucking joke if this turns out to be true, what a fuckin shamblesā¦
Iāll only be this when it get it from a hard and always trustworthy (apart from when he completely makes the shit up) sports hack like Brendan Furlong.
Say this is kind of true, would Chinner have been suspended or just the county board penalised?
They would have had to forfeit the game. Assume they attempted to add him to the panel and it was only then that they realised they couldnāt. Itāll probably be swept under the carpet. If as was reported in the independent he had a medial ligament injury, how did he make a full recovery in 9 days?
Those quotes from the county secretary suggest that he was passed fit to play on Thursday night but he couldnāt be included in the match day squad as the list had already been submitted by the Thursday 9am deadline and his name wasnāt on it. Thatās fucking shambolic organisation if true.
Either bring his fitness test forward to before the deadline for submitting the squad or put him on the list of 26 anyway (given his importance/ability) so he can play if he proves his fitness post squad submission and before the game.
Itās not that difficult.
They only named 25 on the panel submitted so it makes no sense what they did.
Admins can we please close this thread and ban any reference to Wexford GAA ever again?
Itās time we focused on what weāre good at like growing strawberries and catering for the thousands of visitors that holiday in the sunny South East each summer.
First round of qualifiers are the weekend of 2/3 July. Wexford are hurling into July at the very least.
Ah fook sake
Ah fook sake
Yeah, six weeks more of turning up for training under Liam Dunne. When you lose like Wexford and Cork did over the weekend, that should be the end of it, shouldnāt be allowed into qualifiers.
Any idea when the next County Board meeting is on? Clubs should be forcing the issue regarding the management setup. Far too passive IMHO.
Wexford should be in the round robin in lens
With a 5 week break itās an ideal time to sack Dunne and bring a dream team of Liam Griffin, Tony Dempsey, JJ Doyle and Mick Jacob
