Football team named, looks like Brian Malone didn’t appeal red card

Art foley is now 90 I just see . Some man . @artfoley

We’re in full championship mode now Joe, so yes.

Think that’s an unchanged hurling team:

Best of luck today @Gman

David Dunne not starting due to family bereavement.

As an aside, it’s a lovely sight looking down the ground and over the sea.

Wides killing Wexford.

Jack Guiney on with Woolberto this week

Just saw the final score in the Good Counsel/Whitehall CBS Leinster A football final. 7-20 to 1-1. Fucking hell.

Jesus, they will have to split New Ross in two…

Damien Reck should be recovered from his twisted ankle in time for the Tipp game on Saturday week.

Rory O’Connor has resumed light training after his knee operation but is probably a few weeks away from featuring in matches.

Colm Kehoe is nearly ready too.

But Connal Flood sustained a bad knee injury playing for WIT last week and is out for the season.

The best ever result for football in Kilkenny ??

6-4 down at half time after playing with a stiff breeze. Pretty poor for large spells. Brosnan x2 (1 free) and Curtis x2 from play for us. 1-0 up to 4-1 down. Their keeper made a very good save at 3-1 after a long diagonal ball in caused consternation in the visitor’s defence - not sure if he smothered the shot from Doyle or O’Connor. 4-2 after Curtis intercepted a poor kick out and knocked it over. He got another one to make it 6-3 after they’d eased out to 4 in front and Brosnan pointed a free just before half time.

We looked to play the long flighted ball into Doyle from midfield but didn’t get any joy from it apart from the goal chance. We’ve coughed up possession needlessly working the ball out of defence to try get into position to play the longer passes. Some terrible unforced handling errors and misplaced passes. The keeper hasn’t been great either - eschewing some handy short kick outs to play longer ones into traffic. Westmeath have missed plenty of chances after carrying the ball forward into the wind to get into good shooting conditions.

Massive crowd in.

Lost 0-16 to 1-10.

Rossiter flashed a dropping ball first time to the net with the last kick of the game to bring it back to a 3-point final deficit.

Closest we got was 1 down at 8-7 but they kicked 3 in a row after that. Some more poor kick outs and distribution from the back cost us during that spell. The lead was padded out to 5 and 6 then before the goal at the death.

It was fairly comfortable for them in the last quarter and Martin and Heslin had some showy wides going for the spectacular.

Aside from Rossiter’s goal, James Stafford kicked two good second half points from play, Curtis got another, Brian Malone got forward for one and there was 1 or 2 Brosnan frees.

Daithi Waters put in another serious shift in midfield. Stafford and Curtis were good and Nick Doyle took a few good marks when he reverted to midfield for the second half. The backs fought well enough and Rossiter and B Malone were good in the centre.

Great report @Bandage. Nothing much to add, we are short four or five players, plain and simple. In fairness to the team put out, they are trying their hardest. I thought they might have got a hiding by now, so losing narrowly feels like a bit of a result. Was impressed with Stafford and Curtis too and Daithi was his usual.

Spotted Wadding, Lyng and Kehoe having a chat on the terrace. Could have done with them…

Did someone get you a Wexford season ticket for football by accident or something pal?
