I read that earlier and assumed it was a parody. Is it actually serious?
it seems so mac, it seems so. They are an open ended article writing based set up, so quite often have steaming piles of shit in them. Sometimes they have decent info, but most of it is rehashed stuff from twitter feeds.
This crowd seemingly want to become the Wexford version of joe.ie or balls.ie with a load of click bait headlines. Saw one today along the lines of âCrucial player returned to starting team ahead of schedule last nightâ. Then the sub heading was something like âBut not in the position youâd expectâ. I was very very very tempted* to click to find out who it was but I didnât in the end.
*I wasnât tempted.
It was Shaun Murphy mate, i clicked.
They have the odd useful article but I assumed it was a mix of parody and seriousness. I guess the articles I assumed were parodies were just written by idiots.
It caught me out, Iâm sorry to say. It was Shaun Murphy. He played wing back. They also added in that Damien Reck played. Which would have been a bigger story considering he missed the championship but hey ho.
I think one of our own on here may have been involved in its set up or at least a contributor. And judgin by the articles in it, I reckon I know another contributor who also passes on his own tweets to joe.ie
Who passes on his own tweets to joe.ie?
Wexford GAA is off to New York in February to raise funds.
The delegation will include Davy Fitzgerald, Lee Chin, Adrian Fenlon, Tom Dempsey and @artfoley.
Foley didnât have a great game, not his fault, didnât get much ball. On a plus side, they look fit.
Foley didnât get on enough ball considering he was in the sweeper role, but heâs an intelligent hurler & I hope Davy will give him another chance on Sunday. His possession of the ball was rare, but his distribution was a lot better in comparison to Murphyâs last year.
Not strange. He specialises in early season success when other teams arent really at it.
Late season, not so much.
Joey Wadding announced his retirement and fired at shot by doing saying that heâd made himself available for selection but wasnât wanted. A lad who always tried hard but I saw him roasted more times than I saw him dominating a decent forward. Could have done with his experience all the same but no reason for him to sound so bitter in announcing it.
Agreed @Mac. Definitely sounds bitter- not the usual âretirement statementââŚIt looks like a plea, trying to get the public involved in an effort to get back onto the panel or something. Despite various roastings, he gave a good service to the county footballers for a long time and I wish him well in retirementâŚ
Worryingly, thereâs still no word on Ciaran Lyngâs (aged 32) immediate future with the footballers. Again, heâs not on the panel for Sundayâs game against Dublin, but maybe we shouldnât read too much into that.
From what Iâve heard Lyng wonât be kicking this year.
Footballers leading Dublin 1-6 to 4 points
Dublin came back from a 6-point half time deficit to lead by 1 late on but Wexford scored the last 2 points via ex Wexford FC skipper Craig McCabe and Barry OâConnor to win by 1-12 to 0-14.
A good moral victory for Paul Clarkeâs Dublin development side.
Wexford 6-36 Wicklow 1-12 in the Walsh Cup.
Dublin in the semi-final next weekend. Not sure if thereâs a home/away arrangement for this competition but we played them in it in Hollymount last January.
Parnell park next Sunday is the venue.
Ah lads, I think weâre gonna get great mileage out of this site for the coming months.
