I know his aunt and a load of his cousins, a decent chap even if he left realt na Mara.
He made a cod of the rules by transferring from Ballygarrett to Gorey (which are only 16km / 17 mins apart according to Google maps) so Iâm delighted to see the rules properly enforced in this instance.
Are they not neighbouring parishes pal? Riverchapel?
In that case itâs 6.6km / 9 min drive. Fuck him so.
I was going to tag @Gman earlier about the size of Gorey parish and the size of pitches up and down the country but I thought better of it.
Apparently castletown, gorey and Tara rocks are the same parish.
They are indeed. And now because of the super rule of allowing Tara rocks and Kilanerin basically join up, you can add Kilanerin to being eligible to pull from Gorey town now too.
Youâre codding me?
These faceguards pulls are a scourge on the game and a red card was the appropriate punishment
Nope. A Gorey town person can join Tara rocks. Because Tara rocks no longer have a football team, they are allowed join another club who play football. The gentlemanâs agreement between both clubs was Ballyfad would fold and not hurl and Tara rocks football would fold and they would play for the clubs then. But in reality, Connor Devitt for example could go hurl with Gorey without having to transfer and kick football with Kilanerin.
He can hurl with Tara Rocks, not Gorey Iâm sure you mean? He canât hurl with Naomh Eanna and play football with Kilanerin which is how your post reads.
No, he can hurl with any local club. Liam mellows if he wanted either. Hence the gentlemanâs agreement term between the clubs. If they wanted to make sure that didnât happen, then they would have to form one club, so both clubs would feel they lose their status. So this was a way around it, on the understanding no players would go elsewhere but to the other one. Any Tara rocks player is free to play football with who they want, and any Kilanerin player is free to hurl with who they want.
Didnât 2 Wexford town clubs have a similar arrangement until recently?
They still do. Harriers are hurling only, so you can kick football with any of the clubs there. The vols fucked themselves up setting up a hurling team as it meant players on their football team who hurled with Harriers had to quit one or the other.
They both should have been sent off for being shit .
I see joe.ie are hyping up the #letcathalplay shite for Dunbar after his red card appeal was upheld. The video evidence I see above does nothing to say he didnt grab the faceguard, if anything, it ensures it couldnt be disproved as he clearly lets go of his hurl and grabs his opponent. Interestingly, his opponent, under no obligation obviously, turned down a request to write or attend the hearing on Dunbars behalf. More often than not when 2 players are involved in an incident, the other one goes in and says there was nothing in it and it gets thrown out. Not this time though.
I did smile at this tweet though
and even more so at this response issued by the county secretary to all clubs over this tweet:
Poor aul victimised Naomh Eanna. All out on the media campaign to get Dunbar off, but cant take a bit of heat thrown back at them then. For a club in their first ever senior final, they arent getting much neutral support over all this.
When your county secretary canât fucking spell or construct basic sentences you know youâre in a bad place
#letcathalplay
Meanwhile the Martins are flying under the radar. I hope they hop off Gorey.
I thought youâd be firmly against it seeing the disrespect he showed your home club?
