What mobile phone do you have?

Gomibo.ie ok to buy from lads? The Mrs needs a sim-free cheap phone to replace whatever auld machine she has on the go for the last four years or so.

Yes, and if she doesn’t mind Xi Jingping reading her whatsapps then I would recommend the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11. €200 can’t go wrong. It doesn’t have 5G the only drawback, but sure 4G is loads and when I’m in the sticks and can’t get 4G I wouldn’t be getting 5G anyway.

Battery life is unreal. Two days off a charge no bother with decent usage.

Lovely. I found an even cheaper Xiaomi there that I’d say will do the job for her. Sure there’s barely 5G up here anyway FFS sake.

5G is only a cod really. Unless you are downloading movies on the go or something

Anyone on GOMO? what happens when you exceed the 120GB Data? Can you buy an add on?

I don’t think I’ve ever exceeded that.

I’d say there’s a fair usage policy and if you exceed a quota you’ll be rate limited for the rest of the month.

The internet is down in the house, I’ve had to hotspot everything for the last few days. Waiting on an engineer to call out :expressionless:

Do you mean the download speed is slowed?

Yep.

Is that a month? You’d want to be downloading like mad to exceed that surely? Even using it as a hotspot

It’s a heavy load the 4K porn

Forgot to say, they’ll send it with a 2 pin euro trash plug. But you’ll have the cable anyway and sure who doesn’t have 10 of those plugs lying around

I’m trying to source a basic smartphone for someone. Where could I find the lightest smallest smartphone that can handle a few basic apps that won’t break the bank?

I’ve switched from Virgin Media to GoMo. My GoMo SIM came this morning. Do I need to contact Virgin too to cancel or will I continue to stick my thumb up my hole?

Nokia have some really cheap and basic yokes

@Copper_pipe or anyone who might know.

Missus dropped her phone and was.rolled over! Waiting for insurance to replace.

I’m meantime, she has an iphone 5s that’s locked to Vodafone. Any reputable online sources to unlock it?

I’d say they and get Vodafone to unlock it.

Could be €150 + to get it unlocked via eBay or similar.

Has anybody noticed a deterioration in 4G coverage on the GoMo? I had heard they are turning off their 3G network but I am struggling to get 4G the past few days
