Think Today FM peaked around 15 years ago when they had Dempsey, D’Arcy, Fenton and Cooper backboning the weekday schedule. They’ve had a few goes at the lineup in recent years, but have been shedding listeners.
Lost in Music with Louise Duffy was a grand show. She used to play a nice mix of music. Disappointed it’s gone
Music wasn’t bad actually. Her delivery always seemed a bit flat though.
Yeah a bit librarian-ish
Perfect description
Would often have Muireann O’Connell on in the office. A fairly inoffensive lady and a DJ who didn’t grate after a while - very surprised they have given her the road.
I’ve to turn it off or switch over when that Fergal Darcy chap comes on. He is terrible.
He’s smug. Is he from limerick?
GGGGGGGGG-Galway
The Limerick crowd defending their own. They are very clannish and parochial down there
She’s brutal, same as most of them. That Canadian wan is a pain in the hole also.As someone else said I don’t know why anybody listens to radio anymore
A load of auld fellas viciously critiquing kids radio presenters
Most of them are largely homogenous , bland, hybrid D4/ mid Atlantic accents , fake enthusiasm etc . I can’t tell any of them apart . ,
It was always thus, it’s not aimed at me or you.
It’s mind blowing… Irish radio is cat.
The Irish radio I listen to is generally very good, and when I listen with the kids they seem to think it’s great
There are a few exceptions
Kelly on Lyric fm
Kelly Anne Byrne’s the beat goes on
The South wind blows
Poor Dave Fanning relegated to a weekend spot. He has some interesting music or movie segments at times that I sometimes listen back to on podcasts
The only 4 shows I’d also listen to on occasion… The rest, as @backinatracksuit said, is for kids… Pure chewingum …
Was Muireann on Spin South West around lunchtime about 10 years ago?
All the above plus
