Whats the best Irish radio station to listen to?

Dermot and Dave have Dexter and Noodles on from The Offspring in a few minutes lads

Can’t listen to Dermot and Dave anymore. I don’t know who their demographic is but it’s not me.

My life partner prohibits me from hooking up my Spotify playlists in the car so I’m only really exposed to that type of commercial/banter/right craic/zany/high jinks/wacky radio when we’re driving somewhere. We haven’t really been going anywhere for months and it’s only the last week or so since I’ve heard a bit of these two again. It’s painful stuff indeed imnvho. I think the target demographic is around 25-45 so you’re probably out the gap on the far side.

Oh they’re dreadful. A golfing mental health advocate and grown man who wears united jerseys. I just found it amusing that The Offspring were still at it.

Couldn’t have put it better. I would say their demographic audience is either a 32 year old woman off on maternity or a lad driving a tractor in his late 20s.

Shocking segment therewith the fella Drivetime presenter and the winner of the Premier League fantasy football league.

The presenter asked some bizarre question to start which meant the guest had to tell him how he outwitted his opponents to select Mane as captain in the final game.

The presenter then told him to stop and roll back to explain in basic terms what it’s about.

He then asked him it is similar to managing a team for real - which it obviously isn’t.

He then asked where he was from which was Portumna and that was followed by a ‘better watch out for Portumna in the Championship this year so!’

Paul McLoone got the axe from Today FM

I’d say you have no business thinking you can play good music and thinking you can have a career on the radio any more. It appears you have to be a a Dermot and Dave/Fergal Darcy type wanker to survive on the airwaves these days. That of course is the fault of the listener.

Get with the ti-ee-imes mate. Good music is old ha-ee-at.

I was in the car coming home Monday night and JK was whipping up a storm. Some Herbie Hancock and some funk and stuff. It was as good as it gets on Irish radio. Probably fuckall listening to it.

Paul McLoone played some great stuff sometimes but I thought he had gotten fierce predictable. It was like VH2 or MTV2, just always the same songs. A few weeks ago he opened with Love Will Tear Us Apart and Bittersweet Symphony and I thought he sounded like a guy who secretly hates music. Now I wonder if TodayFM were putting pressure on him to be more shit.

A poor mans Dave Fanning.

A poor man’s cunt so

Jesus one of the few radio DJs I enjoyed. He used to be on while I was cramming for college exams. Great taste in music
