To be fair, we were wary before holidays as the staff at our crèche are mainly young. Of course they were going to socialise.
Such is life.
A couple of weeks for the greater good. #imin
I’ll take a bit of pain to do my bit. It’s not the end of the world.
Our has said no fees will be due for the period
What authority are you to say what people should do?
Our creche has a fantastic track record so I can trust their guidance without feeling any guilt.
A mighty sound gesture. You’d want to be a bad egg if you were wfh and you sent your child in under the current climate
We won’t be sending our little one into child care next week. Got a text from the creche to say that a number of the staff are currently quarantining at the moment. Best of keeping them home for the week. Might even keep her out of the child care when they go back to school.
The guidance is non essential workers should keep their children at home
Ye are losing yer fucking minds lads. Please stop repeating the absolute lie that the new strain is more harmful to children.
I’m a frontline worker. I’ll be tip tapping away on excel and then doing slide decks on PowerPoint. That’s essential.
Our crèche is opening but we’ve been asked to let them know plans in advance so they can plan staffing etc. We’ll make a call later.
I want him to go in because:
-
Nobody will really have been anywhere or mixed to a great degree since Christmas Day (9/10 days come Monday);
-
9 or 10/14 days for symptoms presenting is acceptable in the round (some places only require 10 days rather than 14, do they not?);
-
Nobody with symptoms will be let in. Staff who are close contacts to confirmed cases won’t be in either;
-
It’d be a statistical freak for some asymptomatic kid/employee to infect everyone;
-
De Gascun says the more transmissible UK strain isn’t too apparent in Ireland;
-
Children aren’t vectors (I think);
-
It’s a small crèche and if a load of soft cunts shit themselves and keep kids at home then he’ll have the run of the place with very low risk.
The Government has provided guidance to the relevant childcare bodies to allow them to set up for a return to work on Monday.
I’m happy to follow the direction of the management of the creche given that they’ve had zero positive cases since reopening in July.
Is the guidance published? I’ve seen ambiguous reporting and quotes.
Trust the staff?
Some motherfuckers are always trying to ice skate uphill
Disappointing to see some people not willing to join the national effort by minding their own children for a week.
It’s incredibly important to remember how ambiguous the guidelines are in case you’re asked about your motives for dumping the little fella in…
Yup.
Small crew. They’re doing everything above board. Numbers were cut on reopening and only certain staff were kept on rotation. Ongoing testing and all that.
Selfish behaviour has us where we are sadly.
Its a form of child abuse if you send your kids into a creche in the current climate.
