Abject poverty
Are you confusing me with someone else here, mate?
Best of luck to you and Mrs Foley art. Genuinely wish you all the best.
Gravy made, bread sauce made.
Tomorrow will see the veg prepped and possibly blanched. Ham cooked and the turkey coated in a herb butter. I’m a notoriously angry cook so trying to limit the potential for out bursts as much as possible.

What kind of gravy is it with no juices from the meat yet?

Gravy made ?
Ah Bisto
jaysus probably.
I should clarify. It’s more of a base I’ve made, which will be added to the turkey juices on the day itself.
Stuffing made. Bought the freshly killed carp today.
Usually go to the in laws starting with champagne breakfast, which is always too filling so dinner is usually late. Drink away all day without getting drunk.
Bit different this year as the in laws have all decided to go out to a small hotel in the Royal County for dinner. Mulled wine and drinks at 2 followed by four course dinner at 3pm.
Im not mad keen to go out for Christmas dinner but Ill go with the flow. Will be less stress than me trying to cook for everyone which would have been the alternative (and would never have happened) and with the new baby it will make it easy on Mrs Goode which is more important.
I’ve decided to cook a small ham and turkey to have for a few sandwiches. Christmas wouldn’t be the same without them.
You spend 500 quid on Christmas food shopping and you’re eating in a hotel? Fuckin hell
How big a carp would you be getting to feed a crowd? I can’t imagine there’s much ating in them?
Doing Irish coffee party round here after half nine mass. About four years ago we decided it was the snappers day really, so we stay at home for Christmas. Started a small Irish coffee gathering then. Has snowballed a bit and expect a hundred or so people this year.
Having one of my good hurling pals over with his wife and very new baby for the day. A skehana man, and a fine gentleman. Also expecting an ex kk hurler if he is vertical.
Family film in the afternoon then and the dinner around sixish. Expecting a couple of overseas people (an Aussie and a Singaporean) for work round for the day as well.
Hope to get warm and tipsy on the Irish coffee in the morning, and top up with good wine gently all day.

Sounds like a great day, enjoy Flatty.
Three adults here got about two kilo filleted. The kids wouldn’t look at it. Borsch starter and fried pierogis as well.
I’ll let you know. As I said, it isn’t my choice but I’ll roll with it.
It can’t be any worse than the year I had a toasted bacon sandwich with mouldy bread for Christmas dinner after waking on the sofa at 5pm. The year before I had two dinners courtesy of the Mother and the neighbours who I dropped into see at the appropriate time so it swings and roundabouts.
Wanna share the story behind that one EB?
I’ll be at home with the kids & misses. Finished work early today not back till the 5th. Yup. locked already:pint:
