Yes Superintendent Reynolds outdid himself this morning.
Paul Reynolds father is a retired Garda Superintendent.
The Reynolds interview was very instructive this morning alright. Nonsense about McCabe not approaching the investigation to give a statement too. He sounded exactly like the stooge that we have known him to be.
Is that generally how the Gardai conduct their investigations? Identify the people who have information relating to the offence, then wait for them to give them a call, if they donât ring in with the information within 3 months, then the case is closed?
Its been great to see the 2 pauls being badly exposed in all of this as garda spokesmen. And then both of them throwing the toys out of the pram.
Fair fucks to mccabe though. The tape has left callinan, shatter, kenny and possibly the AG vulnerable

Fucking hell there is some incredible stuff in there. Shatter has to go-he has no credibility left. Callinan too surely. Independent Media are such cunts.
callinan caught by the ar5e. he clearly had no idea mccabe recorded the interview.
a lot of this is very reminiscent of the Catholic Church approach to investigations - keep things in house, transfer lads, silence critics
I wonder if the same kind of personality/mentality is needed to rise through the ranks of the GS and the Catholic Church
If Catholic Church analogy is correct then this is tip of the iceberg and what we are seeing was institutional and driven from the top down.

Thatâs how most institutions work in fairness. Itâs certainly how all police forces work the world over. Itâs the collusion of politicians and indeed certain sections of the media in sweeping this stuff under the rug thatâs really sickening. You take away the willingness to investigate abuse of powers and all manner of crazy shit starts to happen.

Itâs not just the GS but all ranks of government. All organs of the state are rotten to the core. A root and branch overhaul is needed on all organs of the state, starting with the government and working the way down.
As for the Garda Commissioner, he has no creditability left and the only reason why he hasnât been fucked under the bus is because he will take a few of the government with him.
Agreed. Look what the Brits did to John Stalker.
Fairly low key response to the Garda Inspecorate report into the penalty points issue.
Paul Reynolds on RTĂ yesterday morning had an exclusive preview that was able to proclaim that most of the recommendations have already been implemented. What a terrific justice system we have.
Callinanâs half-hearted explanation for his comments on the âdisgustingâ actions of the whistleblowers deserves a prize for its vague, unbelievable, unrepetantant and unapologetic tone.

Callinanâs position surely untenable yet with RTE and Kenny backing heâs likely to survive. Hardly surprising if the average man in the street doesnât really give a shit.
It hasnât gone away you know!

I read in the phoenix recently that Leo was a confirmed bachelor and that in modern Ireland that wont be a hindrance to becoming top dog in FG
Either Leo is going off his own bat here or else its a premeditated move by the FG machineâŚ
Interesting few days ahead.
Things kicked up a notch this evening as Ruairi Quinn issues a statement insisting that Callinan should withdraw his remarks. This is despite earlier statement by Enda Kenny who asked that ministers stop making public statements on the issus.
Quinn gives Enda a big fuck you. Is Kenny loosing control of the cabinet now?
