Who will be the next Limerick manager?

That’s still only 4 in forty years tipp have twice that amount on this team

Only hope is if the game goes professional

:notes: De-De-De-De-De Donie Ryan!! :notes: To the tune of ‘Ring of Fire’… What a man, 2007 Semi v Waterford he was unrale!!

He also holds the record for the most helmets split down the middle in LImerick club matches.

Donie Ryan :grinning:

You couldn’t make it up.

I think sweat pants was serious too. :open_mouth:

Ah surely not.

I think he was. Shur Teege was probably as good a forward & that’s not a compliment to Donie.

You’re now playing down my hurling knowledge with a fella who had never even heard of an all star Hurler who scored 2-3 in an all Ireland final. :joy:
It’s a sad day when lads on here are so slow on the uptake that this even needs to be thrashed out. Do I really think Donie was one of the top 3 forwards in Limerick of the last 40 years?

Ah Donie was grand, he was a ball of energy and had a lovely cut to him. A real Limerick hurler. But you wouldn’t be seriously putting him up as one of the top 10 of the last 10 years or anything.

Sorry, kid. I’ll agree with your dumb shit in future.

Yeah read it. Think I have two copies. It is depressing overall. The interviews are entertaining. Tom Ryan is the star of the book.

If Henry shuffling scored the goal donie did against Waterford in 2007 fellas would still be going on about it

Was that the day that Limerick got five goals and “Dan the Man” got none???

Donie scored 2 that day, he went to town.

He was far better than fucking Eddie Enright, John Carroll or Séamus Butler anyway

The important thing to remember donie is ours and I’d trade him for no cunt that played for chipp since the beginning of time.

2 AI SH medals & Butler has a AI Intermediate too.

And all 3 of them poorer forwards than Donie Ryan.

The Tom Ryan segments are sheer comedy gold. An amazing undercurrent of bitterness runs through Unlim Heartbreak, and that really comes from the interviews themselves rather than SLR who just ties the whole thing together. Documenting the 94 All Ireland in two chapters titled “Holocaust: Parts I & II” was a lovely touch. CC @Bandage
