Dodge was and is hugely respected by the players. A superb natural leader who dipped his toes into coaching for the first time last year with the West Limerick U17 Celtic Challenge team. The fact he is so recently retired could be a great plus too, he’ll have a very good insight from players perspective. He knows players inside out and by all accounts was a huge loss last year and efforts were made to find a management role for him but he was uninterested.
Could make a great coach in time and a selectors role observing Quilty (who has a great club record) Kinnerk and Kiely (who is a fine coach himself) will be a great learning curve.
They gave teej the job on less.
Indeed they did, he had no record and tried to bring Dodge into the fold but thankfully he knew what would happen if he got involved with PMU.
Kiely is a super choice for Limerick. A track record. Apolitical. Respected by all. Man manager. A gentleman. All traits our recent managers have not had. However, I have it on good authority that the committee wanted Daly and that Kiely was a last minute thing.
On another note, I heard that West Limerick Radio were resurrecting their Saturday morning GAA programme. Anyone else hear this. Elvis fuck off, I’m not interested in reading what a cunt like you has to say.
They asked Kiely first he said no. They went after Daly he said no and they went back to Kiely and he said yes.
John Who?
They wanted davy but he said no
So realistically speaking chief. How long do you think he will need before he can make an impact? Secondly would there be any merit in retaining him as a selector on the u21 management team?
John Kiely > TJ > Daly > Sheedy
About 14 years id say judging on last year
I am updating my team. David Dempsey replaces James Ryan. Will review again next week after senior hurling quarter finals.
There’s a serious lack of forwards in that half back line
Go on then, let’s have your team
Were no high profile hurling men interested in this job?
Just Tom Ryan. But the right man got the job I think even though he hasn’t a national profile.
Outsiders can’t handle Limerick hurling men*
*Neither can Limerick hurling men
You’ve always had an agenda against James Ryan.
