I’d buy all they have and stick it under the stairs til it’s ready. It’ll be absolutely lovely. Too good to drink young imho. Decent rioja always needs at least ten years often more imho
Except you run the risk of the cork drying out and the wine being destroyed unless you have a wine fridge that has humidity control. It’s happened me numerous times and it’s so disappointing. But agree in general, it’s a shame to drink a good wine before it’s time.
Would storing it on its side not solve that?
I’d say it’s a good bit hotter where @Tierneevin1979 is. It seems grand under the stairs in our place. I never gave it much thought tbh. 95 in parkers is a very high score. I’ve a case of 2009 and it’s lovely. Really good value for the price
I opened it last night before reading re the age. I found it superb - to my uneducated palate at least. Will look to buy a case with a view to laying down now.
Honestly you won’t regret it. It’s lovely wine and great value.
Primitivo is excellently, possibly my favourite Italian red. Chunky with a lot of tannin, sweet finish. The grape was brought from Croatia to southern Italy in the 1700s, it’s known as Zinfandel in the US.
Rinforzo Primitivo from Salento is top stuff, for around the €15 mark.
PS I was given a case of wine at Christmas, and there were instructions to store it upside down.
I never heard of the like before, but I suppose it’d make sense maybe 🤷
You’d have to turn it upright a day or two before opening I’d imagine to get the sediment down.
It helps, but I’ve had corks dry out on bottles stored on their side. Could have been bad corks to begin with I suppose.
Have you had this from O’Brien’s. 4.2 on vivino. One of their best selling wines. On sale now for 13 euro
.
Is that wine mike? Some drink it from bottles, others glasses.
I prefer a straw
