Wine

That area from Galicia down to northern Portugal is spectacular, spent a few weeks there about a decade ago, the seafood in particular is outstanding and great value.

Lisbon is, perhaps, the greatest city in Europe.

The Burgundy was nice. Very very light. Very drinkable but not memorable

The Spanish one is nicer. Smokey. Savoury which is my taste anyway.

Rainy Night in SoHo just came on. Simple pleasures.

How is the immediacy?

There is a real immediacy to the Spanish wine

Almost compelling.

I’d a rake of lovely Spanish wine tonight in Mrs O Sullivan’s… Crab claws, monkfish and apple pie was on the menu

You’ve a far better way about you with some booze on board.

I love a crab claw but they are hard work

A real immediacy to this Portuguese red from Aldi

I’m on the Dada one instead of the Dada art. It maybe number 1 in their range but there’s nothing immediate about it. In fact it’s more remediate.

Picked up this in O’Briens last week on special. About €15 I think. Smooth stuff.

Another lovely one from the new M&S classics range. This and the Rioja are great bang for buck and as nice as ones I’ve had for twice the price.
